FOR THE YEAR 6/4/2025 TO 5/4/2026
ODINIST FELLOWSHIP TRUSTEES' ANNUAL REPORT
2025/2026 have been years of growth for Odinism throughout the British Isles, including in Scotland. Membership has increased appreciably, with several family members of existing members also joining. We still have only one Temple, at Newark-on-Trent, but the search for a second goes on. The number of Hearths stands at fifteen, although, sadly, we have noticed a decline in support in London, which has resulted in the long-standing Hengest's Hearth being disbanded, but this is principally due to movement of members out of the Capital. The Fellowship is especially strong in Cornwall, Warwickshire, the West Riding, Northumberland, and of course in the counties of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, where the effect of our sole Temple no doubt radiates out its beneficial influence.
Our observation is that the prayerfulness of faithful Odinists has risen to another level. For example, devotion to Eir, the Goddess of healing, is especially popular with members and nonmembers alike. Sales of the Eddas and the Book of Rites have greatly increased. We continue to find the Open Days at the Newark Odinist Temple very helpful in familiarising everyday folk and passers-by with a brief introduction to the myth-lore, and this has proved really helpful in “making friends and influencing people”. Universally, we receive a positive response from visitors, as well as from non-Odinist relatives of Odinists taking their wedding vows, who invariably seem happy to join in with the prayers, turning to the north to hail the sir and raising the drinking-horn to toast the happy couple. A delegation of Hindus from India was welcomed at the Newark Odinist Temple and they were deeply impressed by the “stories” which feature in our myths, and left us with expressions of encouragement for the furtherance of England's native religion. We, in turn, extended our good wishes to the Hindus of the sub-Continent.

We continue to support a small number of Odinist prisoners by correspondence, although, unfortunately, we are not able, at this juncture, to provide them with a fully developed chaplaincy service.
At the last Midsummer Gathering, it was decided that annual Gatherings will, in future, be held in October.
The Charity Commission, in the course of a review, made a number of helpful suggestions aimed at strengthening our governance, and this prompted us to hold an extraordinary general meeting in November 2025, at which we updated our Constitution, and issued a social media policy statement. We also reviewed our Politics Protocol, which emphasises that the Fellowship is above politics and politically neutral, while nonetheless supporting freedom of conscience, parliamentary democracy, and patriotism. The Politics Protocol has now been distributed to all members, and has been unanimously endorsed.
Lastly, a notable success in presenting the message of Odinism to the general public has been achieved, largely through the professional and technical skill of the “Wessex Nomad”, whose Youtube documentary, entitled “England's Only Odinist Temple”, has been widely applauded, receiving tens of thousands of viewings, not to mention helping in recruiting many new members. Of course, our ardent ambition is to make the title of that video out-of-date. oy a KGoa (Ratph Hanison, Divecky)
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE ODINIST FELLOWSHIP
Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of the Odinist Fellowship
[ report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 5 April 2026 which are set out above.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner’s statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner’s statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements:-
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations,
have not been met. Nor has any matter come to my attention, to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
