Structure, Governance & Management
Governing Document:
The Charity began as Centre Stage Youth Theatre and was recognised as a Sccltish
charity with effect from 30 June 2009. The charity is administered in accordance fvith
the terms of the Constitution.
This SCIO was incorporated on 10 June 2016 as a result of a change to SCIO
application by Centre Stage Youth Theatre SC040629. which was an Unincorpor
Association registered as a charity since 30 June 2009.
Trustee Recruitment & Appolntment".
The trustees were those appointed on the establishment of the charity and represbnt
the minimum number required. Appointment and removal are in accordance with
constitution which requires that appointment is approved by unanimous agreeme
of Ihe existing trustees and removal of any trustee by the unanimous agreement
the others.
Objectives & Activities
The Charities Charitable Purpose:
As set out in the 'Constitution' and 'The Charities and Trustee Investrnents
(Scotland) Act 2005, the purpose(s) of Centre Stage Community Theatre SCIO ar9
the following'.-
1. The advancemenl of the arts, heritage. culture. or science.
Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the
preceding purposes.
Summary of the main activities In relatlon to these objectives: Promote,
produce. and support performance, events, drama. and musical theatre.
To encourage participalion in theatrelperformance amongst young people (and all
ages). To develop the creativelperformance skills of young people (and all ages)
through the craft of theatre.
To develop the linguistic and social skills of young people (and all ages).
To provide an opportunity for young people (and all ages) lo work with professional
tutors, artists, and craftspeople.
To encourage young people (and all ages) to work together as a community and
doing so experience the practical workings of theatrelperformance. whilst respectin
its skills and discipline.
To provide a safe environment considering welfare, and protection for all members.

The 2024 Pantomime "Pinocchio" was another success with record number of young pe
involved and five sell-out performances. We are indebted to the many volunteers who
made this possible. and to the community of Langholm and beyond for their continuing
support.

Respertive responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The charities trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance
the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment Iscotlandl 2005 Act and the Ch3ritie5
Accounts (Scotlandl Regulations 2006. The charity trustees consider that the audit
requirement of Regulation 10111 Idl of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my
responsibility to examine the accounts as requifed under settion 4411) Icl of the Act and
st3te whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Éxaminer's ststement
My e¥amination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts
(Scotlandl Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records
kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It als
includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosure5 in the accounts and seeks
explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken Oo
not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do n
express an audit opinion on the accounts.
