**What the charity does:** ARCH was established to provide a broad spectrum of activities encouraging people to learn about, participate in and preserve their local heritage.  The Charitable Objects of the Company are:  (a) Providing opportunities for all ages and abilities to learn about the rich archaeological heritage of their communities. Where possible, these opportunities will take place in their communities.  (b) Recording the past, with photographs, drawings, plans or memories, to be made as widely available as possible on websites, Historic Environment Records, and local archives.  (c) Offering a range of activities to suit all interests and to allow progression including courses, above ground surveys, excavation, post excavation activities and archival research, working in partnership with other group and societies.  (d) Providing tools and knowledge to enable people to make quality contributions to and to manage their local heritage.  (e) Publishing results of research on Highland archaeo

**Objectives:** The organisation’s purposes are: (i) The advancement of education by arranging and supporting projects and events, formal and informal, which will enable communities in the Highlands, and others, to learn about, and the skills to engage with, the heritage and archaeology of the Highlands. the advancement of citizenship or community development by working with Highland communities to enhance their sense of place, their community cohesion, and their understanding of history and heritage. (ii) The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture, or science in the Highlands by a. Supporting communities in the Highlands to be curious about, engage with, and undertake further research in, their local heritage and archaeology. b. recording the past, with all relevant media including digital media, photographs, drawings, plans or memories, to be made widely available on websites, Historic Environment Records, and local archives, and other media. c. undertaking relevant heritage and archaeological projects which add to the public record of our heritage, and…… d. promoting awareness and understanding of the Highland’s heritage by arranging discussion sessions, exploratory walks, producing publications, and participating in public events.
