Structure, governance and management Type of governing document The Newmachar First Responders was established in 2005 and was recognised as a Scottish Charity with effect from 22 August 2008. The Responders is an unincorporated association and is administered in accordance with the terms contained within its constitution. Trustee recruitment and appointment — The Office Bearers who are the charity’s Trustees meet on a regular basis. Appointment and removal of Trustees is in accordance with the guidelines contained within its constitution. The Trustees are elected each year. ; Objectives and activities Charitable purposes The advancement of health and the saving of lives by providing first response medical support and assistance to the Scottish Ambulance Service for the local community of Newmachar and the surrounding area. Summary of the main activities The Responders carry out services and activities itself for the benefit of the in relation to these objects community. The members are all volunteers, and they provide defibrillation, CPR and other life saving interventions in accordance with their training for the benefit of Newmachar community and the surrounding areas of the village. The Responders work in partnership with the Scottish Ambulance Service and aim to provide a fast response service where possible to assist the Ambulance colleagues to increase the chances of saving life.
