Governing Document Arbroath Abbey Timethernes is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation governed by its Memorandum and Articles of A550Clation approved on 21 August 2012. It is registered with the Scottish Charity Regulator. Anyone over the age of 16 can become a member of the organisation and there are currently 28 members, each of whom agrees to contribute £1 In the event of the charity winding up. Appolntmentof Trustees As set out in the Articles of Association. at each Annual General meetin& the members may elert any member to be a trustee. Additionally, the trustees have the power, at any tirne, to appoint a member to be a trustee . Oryonlsotlon The board of trustees have established a Management Committee, all of whom are members. to oversee the day to day running of the organisation. The Management Committee met 4 times during the year. Objertlves ondActfvltles The organisation's objects are; to promote and advan￿ appreciation of the Dedaratlon of Arbroath as part of Scotland's cultural heritage and history, and to advance public understanding and knowledge of the Declaration of Arbroath and medieval Scotland. Aclmevements and Performonce On April 6th 2024 the usual commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath did not take place but members did attend at the Abbey on that day for their own token commemoration.
