For the public benefit of the communities of Blyth Bridge, Dolphinton, Kirkurd, Lamancha, Leadburn, Mountain Cross, Newlands, Romanno Bridge and West Linton to promote and advance for the benefit of all inhabitants education, environment, community, training and the advancement of the personal capacities off young people.
Objectives: to promote the benefit of all inhabitants of the area which as at the date of amendment of this memorandum comprises the Lamancha, Newlands & Kirkurd Community Council Ward and its neighbouring communities in the Scottish Borders Council 'Community Area') and its environs without distinction of gender, sexuality, political, disability, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved.
