On a pure numbers basis, the 2024125 Programme has been our most produrtive yet.
Details are set out below.
School Ru8by
Through our coaching team we delivered more than 1300 coaching sessions in primary and secondary Schools over
the course of the year. A sizeable number of the players who took part in those sessions went on to join Ayf Rugby
Club and we saw growth in the number of youth girls playing at Ayr Rugby Club. Further details are as follows..
BELMONT ACADEMY- SCHOOL OF RUGBY
Participation has increased year on year followlng the Introductlon of the School of Rugby and 2024125 was no
different.
Sl pupils - 35
S2 pupils -25
S3 pupils - 20
The Belmont AcademySOR has been a masslve success, In SI-S2 each player received 3 session5 per week plus
monthly modules including nutrition, mental health & wellbeing, and online s3fety. Pupils in $3 received these
modules plus a double period of ru8by and strength and conditioning once a week.
Belmont also complete againsl other local secondary schools in the Ayr Schools Cup.
One of the blggest positives from the programme has been to see the opportunities and confidence It has given both
male and female pupils who are new to the sport or who may have had limited opportunities to be involved in rugby
and seelng those young players transitioning to Ayr RFC youth tearns and becoming Ayr RFC members.
ACRT also paid for new playlng strlps for all puplls repre5entlng 8elrnont Academy.
AYR ACADEMY
ACRT delivered 4-week rugby blocks to Sl and S2 twice a week. Each session has 20-25 pupils from each class. Ayr

ACRT delivered a 4-week block to all Sl & S2 pupils of contact / non-contact fugby. A total of 150 pupils.
PRIMARY SCHOOL RUGBY
A key focus was once again to target certain prirnary schools as Schools of Rugby as we have concluded that early
participation in rugby is key to retainin8 players 80ing forward. ACRT delivered sessions 10 the following schools-

club rugby from the primary 617 age group. Schools welcomed the opportunity to be involved with this new
pro8romtne. Coache5 deliver one Session per week to boys and girls throughout the year. Numbers have been hugely
positive once again with some schools adding primary 5 pupils to the Programme.
For prlmary schools not involved In the SOR programrne we will continue to deliver 4-week rugby blocks 10 each
school {full classes) as often as we can. We currently deliver this model to 15 prirnary schools in South Ayrshire and
