Report of the Trustees
The Trustees are pleased to present their report together with the Financial Statements of
Women for Mission (Wfm) for the year ended 30 April 2026.
Status of Charity
Wfm is the recognised women's association of the Free Church of Scotland.
11 Is a registeTed Scottish Charity (No. SC038988) and is administered under the terms of the
Constitution.

The aim of Wfm is the advancement of religion by promoting interest in, and giving practical
support lo. the Church's Mission work at home and abroad.
Trustees
Al the Annual Business Meeting on 24 May 2007 the decision was taken to appoint the Wfm
Executive as Charity Trustees.
The members of the Executive who served during the year ended 30 April 2026 were as
follows..

Activities
Individuals 2nd Wfm groups throughout Scotland have worked to iaise funds lor the
association's projects.
During the past year Wfm raised funds by means of ils annual project, Flourish. The
funds from this projecl will be distribLJled to help support four groups and causes..
The Mamie Martin Fund IMalawi} - Funds raised will go lowaids grants to
support Several girls in their final two years of secondary school as part of
their 'Keeping Girls in School, project. This project provides pastoral support,
educalion to empower Ihe girls to make informed life decisions in the future,
and basic necessities such as notebooks and travel costs.,
Christ the Saviour Presbyterian Church (Krakowl - Due lo the small
number of reformed churches and believers living in Poland. there is very little
in the way of Gospel-cenlred, reformed literature in the Polish language.
Funds raised will go towaTd5 translating, editing and proofreading for a Polish
translation of the Reformation Sludy Bible".
Free Church Youth Camps IScotlandl- Funds raised will go towards the
cost of running Free Church Youth Camps and will provide opportunities for
more children lo attend camps as well as widen Ihe camps, options for
activities.. and
Junction 12 IGlasgow) - Junction 12 works with children and young people
in the east end of Glasgow, among the 50/0 most deprived areas in Scotland.
All activities run are underpinned by Christian values. Funds raised will go

towards their residential camps and will allow young people lo attend. The
camps are an opportunity lo develop friendships. and build social and
communication skills and lo learn more about the Christian faith.
During the yeaf Wfm conlinued lo sell copies of the ever popular Favourite Recipes
cookery book. From the sale of Favourite Recipes donations tolalling £3,000 have
been made in the year to..
Tearfund for work ongoing in Sudan., and
Tearfund's Middle East appeal.
Heart-4-Home - The fund was set up to encourage local churches and individuals to
reach out with ¢ompassion into the local community. In the last year four grants
totalling £1.850 have been given out lo Free Church outreach projects in Scotland.
During the year, Ihis funding has been used to..
contribute to the cost of AV equipment for a church group.,
assist with the running costs of children's clubs,
assist with the purchase of a dishwasher", and
assist with the running costs of a youth group.
Support a Volunteer- The fund was sel up lo give f￿nanCIal assistance lo travel
expenses of members of the Free Church of Scotland volunleering for short-term
mission work overseas. During the year grants were paid to three Individuals which
tolalled £1,700.
Reserves
Taking account of the deficit for the year of £13,877 which arose as a result of the liming of
receipts and payments. Vvfm held total funds amounting to £46,776 al 30 April 2026. These
consisted of the following..

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Women for Mlsslon
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30 April 2026 which are set out on
pages 6 to 11.
Re$pocUve rnsponslbilltl•$ of trustees and •xamln•r
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accA)unts in acA)rdance wrth
the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 2005 and the Charities
Accounts Iscotlandl Régulations 2006 las amended). The charity trustees consider that the
audit requirement of Regulation 10111 {dl of the 2006 Accounts Regulations do6s not apply.
It is my responsibilty to examine the accounts as required under section 4411 } Ic) of the Act
and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basls of Independent examlner's statement
My examination is carried out in accordance wlh Regulation 11 of the 2CQ6 Accounts
Regulations.
An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a
comparison of th8 accounts presented with those records.11 also includes consideration of
any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees
cone£rning any such matters. The wocedures undertaken do nol provide ail the evidence
that would be required in an audit. and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the
view given by the accounts.
Independent examlner's statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come lo my attention
1. which gives me reasonable ¢ause to believe that in any material respect the requirements..
. to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 4411) lal of the 2005 Act and
Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
. lo prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with
Regulation 9 of the 2006 Acc(yJnts Regulations have not been met, OT
2. to which. in my opinion. attention should be drawn in order lo enable a proper
understanding of Ihe accounts to be reached.

Basls of accounting
These accounts have been prepared on the Receipts and Payments basis in accordance with the
Charities & Trustee Investment {Scollandl Act 2005 and the charit￿eS Accounts (Scotland)
Regulations 2006 las amended).
Nature and Purpose of Funds

General Fund
The General Fund is used for the ongoing administration of Women for Mission.
Biennial Conferenc
Fun
The Biennial Conference FLsnd represents unrestricted fvnds designated by the Trustees from the net
receipts of previous conferences lo cover the organisational costs of future conferences.
Women's Minist Fund
Through this fund, we hope lo provide small grants for events and initiatives that will strengthen churches,
bless communities. and support congregations seeking to share the good news of God's love. These funds
will be used as and when applications are received and approved.
Restricted Funds

Each year, Women for Mission raises funds for specific projects selected al the beginning of the year.
The sum5 raised are held in restricted funds until they are forwarded to the appropriate recipient. The project for
2025126 is Flourish.
Heart for Home
The Heart for Home Fund wa5 established 2010111 and is restricted for allocation to
applications made by Ihe Church in Scotland for outreach projects.

The Support a Volunteer Fund is restricted for allocation to volunteer workers whose applications for
funding has been approved by the Trustees.
Trustee Remuneration and Expenses
The Trustees did not receive any remuneralion during the year ended 30 April 2026.
The total amount of travel expenses paid to Trustees during the year ended 30 April 2026 was
£58 {2025. £nill.

During the year a Irar)sfer of £2,000 was made from unrestricted funds lo the Heart for Home fund. A transfer of
£226 was made from the unreslricled fund to the Project 2024125- Empower fund.
