## **Recruitment and Appointment of Trustees**
The Trustees are all elected by the members of the Group at the Annual General Meeting. Other Trustees may be co-opted from the membership as agreed by the Group.
## **Governing Document**
The Group is a charitable, unincorporated association, and the purposes and administration arrangements are set out in the Constitution.
## **Charitable Purpose**
The purpose of the Group, as recorded in the Constitution, is to help and support men affected by cancer and their relatives and friends.

## **Activities and Achievements**
The principal on-going activity of the group is the weekly ‘drop-in’ sessions held in the Retirement Centre every Friday afternoon. These are very well attended by members of the group and supporters. There has been a marked increase in interest in the group. The committee meets on a regular basis to deal with the business of the group.
The year under review has seen a sustained interest and membership and the ever-widening of the public profile of the Group. The fifteenth AGM held on 24 March 2025 was well attended by members and the general public. The guest speakers for the evening were Caroline Maciver and Aoife Macrae from Western Isles Cancer Care Initiative (WICCI)
Individual payments of grants and donations are confidential, and the figure shown is a total sum.
The membership now totals 95 men and again, we record with sadness the passing of some members. In spite of that the Group continues with its positive role in encouraging male cancer patients and their families.
## **Trustee Remuneration and Expenses**
The Trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the period, other than as disclosed in the Notes to the Financial Statements.
## **Reserves**
As a result of the surplus of £12,959 for the year, the Group held unrestricted funds of £172,578 at the year end. The Group’s present policy is to continue to try to build reserves with a view to meeting anticipated future costs of adapting and providing a permanent drop-in centre for beneficiaries of the Group.
The charity will continue to make Grants and Donations as in the past.

Eighty one donations totalling £20,320, was paid to individual cancer patients or relatives of cancer patients and a donation of £5,000 was given to both Bethesda Hospice and Proven Connect.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES**
I report on the Accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 December 2025, which are set out on pages 3 to 5.
## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**
The Charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The charity’s trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10 (1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44 (1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
## **Basis of independent examiner’s statement**
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes a consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
## **Independent Examiner’s Statement**
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention.
1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
- to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44 (1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and
- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulation
have not been met, or
2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
