**Purposes:** &#x27;the advancement of citizenship or community development&#x27;,&#x27;the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended&#x27;

**What the charity does:** The Hall was gifted to the congregation of Laurencekirk Parish Church in 1900. The Kirk Elders were the Trustees of the Hall, which was registered as a charity under Laurencekirk Parish Church.  In 2009, the Hall became a charity in its own right, assuming its own charity number, and the Trust Deed was legally amended to record this.  Under the new charity registration, the Hall was set up to benefit not only the congregation of the Church but the wider community in Laurencekirk and beyond.  It is multi purpose venue which is hired to individuals, groups, public sector organisations, and businesses for holding celebratory events, fund raising events, meetings  and other events. The Hall also organises events for the benefit of the community - afternoon teas, lunches, celebratory events, concerts, music events, being some examples.  The Trustees comprise members of the Kirk Session and community representatives.

**Objectives:** The Hall shall be used for the benefit of the Congregation of Laurencekirk Parish Church and the wider community of the Christian Church for religious purposes as determined  by the Minister.  2. The hall may be used for other purposes consistent with the contemporary life. activities, ethos and character of the Congregation and Church determined by the Kirk Session including concerts, dancing and forms of entertainment  which cause the damage to the fabric and furniture of the hall
