**Objectives:** 1.  To provide, in the interests of social welfare, facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation available to the public at large within Maukinhill, Greenock and its surrounding areas ('the Operating Area') with a view to improving their conditions of life 2.  To advance education particularly among the people who live or work in the Operating Area by providing those people with support and guidance to actively develop their own learning 3.  To advance community development by building community capacity (including the ability to contribute more effectively to the regeneration of the Operating Area and to community planning structures) through volunteer and wider community involvement and creating a greater sense of belonging 4.  To promote training in skills of all kinds among people who live or work in the Operating Area 5.  To advance the health, wellbeing and security of people within the Operating Area. 6.  To promote the voluntary sector within the Operating Area.
