VGC is a local charity to support adults and young people living with mental health difficulties. The organisation uses horticulture, creative arts and the environment to support and develop people via a therapeutic garden project. Aim is to provide a relaxed space to improve physical and mental health wellbeing, educate and promote citizenship. This allows adults and young people to feel better connected to the wider community and workplace. VGC provides a validating community where individuals can grow in confidence by developing horticultural skills while working safely alongside others. In addition, VGC's activities include: ? growing organic food for the community. ? offering cut flowers to care homes and alike. ? providing qualifications to adults at risk and local school children who require support. ? supporting other organisations such as Alzheimer’s Scotland by hosting workshops. ? hosting community workshops such as Willow Weaving, Moss Identification, composting.

Objectives: 4.1 The advancement of education through the provision of supportive work environment and training in horticulture for excluded groups of people, particularly those suffering from mental health problems 4.2 The advancement of citizenship and community development by restoring and maintaining natural landscapes, access paths and community gardens which are open to the general public 4.3 Advancement of health through providing opportunities for social interaction and physical exercise through gardening activities 4.4 Advancement of environmental protection and improvement through maintaining and developing community garden, maintaining woodland paths and maintaining and restoring the natural environment.
