a(k)pted last on 20th January 2020. It Is a registered Scottlsh Charlty No. SC038136.
OFFICE BEARERS AND TRUSTEES
The Congregalion is governed and minislered by elected of11￿ bearers (all volunteers) and its
Minisler. The Kirk Session, ￿Ing ihe Minister lor interim Wderalor) arf ebcted Elders, has
responsibility for spiritual oversight, while the Deacons, Court composed of Kirk Session
members plus elected Deacons, oversees flnanclal and propety matters. Under Charlty Law,
all members of the Dea￿ns, Court are deemed to be the Trustees ol the Congregation as those
wilh responsibility for ¢Jay lo day management and control. This is distincl Irom Ihe role of
property (Congregationall Iruslees who are responsible only for holding property in Irusl.
APPO1￿mE￿ OF CHARrrY TRUSTEES
The Kirk Session iniliales and oversees the election of new Trustees (Elders and Deacons}. The
election prO￿sS involves the communicant rnembership of Congregation. Elders and
Deacons hold office for life and remain members ol the Deacons, Court until they cease lo be
members of tIE Congregation, or their resunations from Offi￿ are aC￿pted, or they have ￿en
deposed from Office. Prior lo their appointment, new Truslees serve the Church for some time in
various roles and are familiar wllh the Church's values, Ils aims and obiectlves as well as its day-
to-day operations. As part ol their induction programme, new Trustees are required to
understand their stalutory responsibilities as well as the responsibilities of their Offi￿ within the
Congregalion as Elder or Deacon.

CHARITABLE PURPOSES
Cumbernauld Free Church ol Scotland is a Congregation of the national Free Church of Scotland
wor￿ng iowards the aims sel out below.
The FBe Church of ScxJtLand is a Presbyterian Church adhering in its worship and doctrine to the
position of IFE Church ol Scotland al the Reformation. There is an explanatory documenl which
explains the origins of the Church and which gives the historical background to the Church
coming into I￿Ing in 1843 and lists documents in which are eM￿￿dIed its constitution.
Dating from 1843 but with its roots in Ihe Reformalion, il owes ils distinclive title to its historical
struggle to remain Yree, Irom state Interferen￿ in its internal affairs. It has close and active
relalions with many other Reformed churches ol Jesus Chrisl throughout Ihe world and stands
firmly in Ihe Iradition which accepts the Bible in ils entirety as the Word ol God and, therefore,
derives its fonns of teaching, worship, ministry and govemment Irom it. The main emphasis of
our worship is Ihe preaching ol the gosFel - the good news of a free and sovereign salvation
Ihrough Jesus Chrisl alone.
The Free Church of So)tLind currently has around 100 Congregations in s(￿lIand, as well as
Iwo in London and four in North America, and sisler Churches founded by mission work in Indla,

CHARITABLE PURPOSES...
Peru and South Africa. The Church also has a full-time degree-awarding Theolcgical Seminary in
the heart of Edlnburgh IETSI for the tralning of Mlnlsters and other Chrlslian workers and
sustains an extensive missionary prcyJramrne relative to the size of the Church. The Church
building and the Ministerfs House (Mansel are the propety ol the Congregation and are held in
Irusl by locally e￿cted Propety Truslees, although under the ￿de1 Trusl Deed Ihe permission
of the Gereral Assembly is required ￿fOre any change in status is made.The Congregation aims
to maintain the public worship ol God and to foster Christian Fellowship. to evarrJelise the local
area by proclalmlng the g0sF￿1 of Jesus Chrlsl. to exerclse pasloral care and pracllcal
compassion for those in need, whalever their bathground; to exercise a caring and leaching
ministry among young people of the Congregation and the community. to uphold and lurther the
Interests of the
Free Church of S￿tland., and to participate both practically and prayerfully in the worldwide
promotion of Chrislian fellowship and the athancemenl ol Ihe Christian lailh. All the business
and proceedings of the Congregation are corfucled in accordance with Ihe constitution of the
Free Church of s￿tland, under the supeNision of the Free Presbytery ol Glasgow & Argyll, and
in terms ol the Acts, deliVeran￿S and directions of the General Assernbly ol the Free Church of
Scotland. The Congregation was given the status of a fully-sanclioned, self-supporting charge by
the 2018 General Assembly with a Minister awointed on a 5-year terminablelrenewable basis.
cuRRE￿r YEAR ACTIVITIES
Durlng the year, the Congregation mel regUla￿Y for publlc worship and carried out various
actwities in pursuit of the above slated aims.
The Congregation continued its commitment to SUPFJ)rt the national Free Church ol Scotland
both spiritually and f inancially.
Signrficant hbjhlights, events a￿1 developments of note in the year include IFE following=
Congregalional activities..
1. In March 2024 ￿ was inducted as the Pastor replacing the interim moderator
2. We welcomed 5 new members durlng 2024 and 4 left 2 people moved locatlon and 2 sadly
passed. We have now 40 meM￿rS and 11 adherent meM￿rs.
3. SeNices are going very well and numbers at Sunday morning seNices range from 40 to 50
Numbers in the Sunday evening seNice are usualty around about 20 to 30
4. There is a Wednesday evening prayer meeting which is well attended.

CURRENT YEAR ACTIVITIES...
5. We have now started a Youth Fellowship meeting which meets each Thursday in the pastor's
home.
6. A new men's bible group has just recently started and runs every 2nd Tuesday.
7. We have hosted olher Chrfstlan organlsallons lo Ihe church Includlng OM and Scrlpture Unlon.
8. We hold regular lolnt ServI￿S wllh Coatt)rldge Free Church elther at home or travelllng to
Coatbridge.
9. Bi Monthly church lunches have been reinstated and are very well attended and well re￿ived.
10. Youth Work.. Sunday School and Crèche are availabb at both SeNices.
Community Oulreach
Every Friday evening, we run a very SUC￿ssful Youth Club during term-time. It is very well
received and some of the youth also attend the Sunday night service.
The Babies and Toddler Group is also going well and recently mary church mums are attendirYJ
wllh thelr chlldren.
We have re￿ntlY leased our bulldlng to a I￿al food bank who operale from Ihe church on a
Monday evening.
We lease our building to local Scout and Brownie troops who attend on a Monday arf Thu rsday
evening.
We continue to forge ties with the local Broomlands Family Centre who use our building as an
oversplll for Ihelr c£)mmunlty programmes.
All workers wilh children and young people who salisfy the crfleria are memlRrs of the PVG
Scheme, or are in prO￿s$ of up-dating IIEir regislralion. The PVG Coordinator and the Minister
are also PVG Scheme members for both Children and Protected Adults. The Free Church
cenlrally provides PVG online Iraining, and participalion is a requiremenl for volunleering.
A Carol servi￿ was held the Sunday evening ￿lOre Christmas and was well-attenthd arKI
appreciated.
iv. The Congregation continues to support Internalional Missions, including OMF, Steadfast
Global, Mission International and Bethany Christian Fellowship both financially and by prayer,
and invites representalives to inform the congregation of Iheir work.

FUTURE PLANS
As we look ahead, we were exclted to welcome our rew Paslor Into the church famlly.
We belleve and can see that tr)Is new leadershlp wlll brlng fresh vislon, renewed energy arKI
spiritual enwuragement and growth to our congregation. Alongside this transition, we are
continuing to make improvements to our facilities and ministries, fostering a more welcoming and
vlbranl envlronnEnl for worship and fellowship. We are encouraged by the positlve momentum
within the chur(* community and are committed to building on this foundation. Our desire is lo
see continued growth both spiritually, as individuals deeFEn their laith and discipleship, and
numerically as we reach out lo our community and welcome rEw members inlo our fellowship. A
great deal of work is still required on the fabric of the building. Building work has been prioritised
and we are continuing to work towards raising lunds to progresswely improve the building.
We remain prayerful and hoFeful for all Ihal God has in store for the coming year, Irusting in His
guldance and provlslon as we move forward together.
FINANCIAL RESULTS
Total funds showed a Deficit of (£8,770) forthe year a sFJnificant decrease from {2& £26,217),
reducing reseNes lo £34,312 (2> £43,083) Restricted reseNes totalled £24,314 and
Unreslricled reseNes tolalled £10,OIXI. This reduction is mainly down to necessary maintenance
and refurbishment projects for the church and manse costing £40,467.
Total income lor the year was £90,292 (23-£95,971), Donations totalled £86,474123-£79,168)
this is an increase of g°/.. TIEre was no grant income for the year, Income of £3,794 was
recelved from Tales Creek In ￿ntras1 to the prevlous years123-£15,648}. However, thls
decrease is misleading as il was never inlended as church income. The church received
funds Irom Tates Creek a￿1 the church then pays them directty to a trainee outside the churth.
Total paymenis for Ihe year were £99,(￿3 (2>£69,754) Charitable payments tolalled £98,583
{23-£68,6831 they have increase by 44°1..The church has now resumed payments to Tates Creek
church as well as having to pay rE￿ssary maintenance and refurbishmenl projects for the
church and manse ￿stIng £40,467, along with the cost associated to striving to meet ils
obligations to the congregation the wKler 1￿MmunIty.
RESERVES POLICY
Three months, operating costs should be held in reserves tolalling £10,000. The Trustees wlll
review the reseNes policy on an annual basis to give Confiden￿ to stakeholders Ihat the
charity's finances are being managed and can also be used to provide an indicator of future
funding requirements needed for investment in the association to add value for its members.

1. BASIS OF ACCOUNTING
These accounts have been prepared on the re￿ip1S and Payments Basis in a￿OrdanCe with the
charities and Tnjstee investment (Scollandl Act 2005 and the charilies Accounts (Scotlandl,
Regulations 2006las amended)
2. NATURE AND PURPOSE OF FUNDS, Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the
discrelion ol the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity. The trustees maintain a
single unreslricted fund lor Ihe day-to-day running of the charity- Restricted funds may only be
used for specific purposes. Restrictions arise when SF￿clIled by the donor or when furkjs are
raised lor specific purposes.
3. TRUSTEE REMUNERATION No remuneralion has t￿en paid to any trustees in accordan
th section 67 01 the Charities and Trustee investment (Scotlandl Act 2005. There were no
other saLqries paid lo any connecled persons during the year. There were no travel expenses
paid to Iruslees or conrECted persons during the year other than re-imbursement of out of pockel
expenditure.
A conffibutlon of £3,79412023: £15,648) was pald to ￿, a trustee, lowards tralnlng
costs in resFECt of ministry training. This was funded by donations for this purpose from Tates
Creek Presbyterian Church in Kentucky, USA, via the Ministry Fund.
The ministry pays a monlhly remittance to the free church and they pay the salary of the minister
directly.

URESTRICTED FUNDS
GENERAL FUND-The aim is to put aside 1 Ok in general which will be held for good
manaqement.
If general reseNes ex￿ed £10,000 the eX￿$S will tE transferr￿1 lo Fabric anu Maintenance
Fund as Ihis is where our biggest challenge lies. We are slill concenlraling on improving our
building for the future. (ljr figures show monies in monthly and covering all our outgoir#Js to the
1 Ok reseNe should slay intact, we will monrtor this.
RESTRICTED FUNDS:
BENEVOLENT FUND - represenls funds donated to the Church for benevolenl objects.Fabrlc
AND MAITr￿ENANCE FUND - represents gills received specifically for the upgrading, repair and
Maintenan￿ of the church a￿1 manse. The fund indudes an amount for ongoing refurbishment
work which includes installation ol rEw windows, complete rewiring of the e￿CtriCS, arKI repair
work to the church roof.
LADIES, FELLOWSHIP - represents funds held on tehalf of the memlxrs of the Ladies,
Fellowship.
MANSE FUND - Ihis fund was established duriro 2020 to raise funds to replace the church's
manse. A new manse was purchased during 2021. The balance held in this fund, as well as any
fulure donalions, will be used lo repay the loan which was athanced lo help wilh the purchase
as well as refurbishing ihe Manse
MINISTRY FUND - this fund re￿iVeS ck)nations to support a range of ministry initiatives
including support lor those seeking lo Irain for Ihe ministry.
CHARITABLE APPEALS: NON-FREE CHURCH FUND - represenls donations re￿iVed
stEcilically lor other charilies and ix)dEs, which were passed on to these organisalions du ring
the year.
YOUTH CLUB AND BABIES &TODDLERS - represenls granls, donatlons and Income work
with children and young people in the congregation and community, including Kids, Club and
Little Lambs.
