The Trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019). ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** ## **Objectives and aims** The charity has continued the pursuit of its primary objectives of advancing the Christian faith, education and the alleviation of poverty. Sunday services and mid-week services were held all through the year recording an average attendance for children, youths, young adults and Adults across our various online and social media platform. The trustees have considered the Charity Commision's guidance on public benefit, including the guidance 'public benefit: running a charity (PB2)'. 1 of 18 ## RCCG Jesus House Aberdeen Report of the Trustees Continued ## For the year ended 31 December 2024 ## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE** The charity has continued the pursuit of its primary objectives of advancing the Christian faith, education, and the alleviation of poverty in different ways. The church and charity have continued the progress into return to new type of normalcy, following the end of the Pandemic lockdowns and restrictions. We have fully restarted and seeking to improve on Sunday services and mid-week services first - online and then fully hybrid of mixed onsite and online. Services were held all through the year recording increasing average attendance for children, youths, young adults with growing both various online and social media platforms, especially in the light of all pandemic restrictions now lifted. ## PARISHES In the 2024, the church continued to support planted parishes through visitation, training, equipping, team building and joint projects. Manifest Parish, being one of the new parish in Manchester continues to make great progress. Also, we have focused on strengthening ViZion a campus-focused youth group dedicated to exploring faith and life, creating an atmosphere for young adults most of whom are students in both local universities in Aberdeen to network, develop lasting friendships, support personal growth and self-development through various mentorship opportunities from working professionals, coaches, business persons sharing their life experiences. ViZion is also focused on helping campus folks of no-faith or of little-faith, in their journeys of life. During the year, the charity will progress with early planning to co-sponsor the planting of new church in Lisbon, Portugal as well major outreaches to ten cities and towns across Scotland. In the next year, we plan outreaches to Iceland. The year 2024 was focused on strengthening of Marriages, courtships, relationships and family, wellbeing, particularly in the face of consequences from lockdowns and relocations after lockdowns. Special marriage, relationships and parenting workshops are planned to hold in February, May and October. As to greater city and community focused outreaches, we reflected on the lingering effects of lockdown as well the newly emerging negative economic consequences of Russian attacks on Ukraine. The latter event is leading to vastly increasing costs of living, great increases in energy and common items of everyday life and resulting impact. The focus and interventions of the church charity are focused on offering various manners of support to members of the church and the Aberdeen community at large, to ensure all who required some sort of help or assistance were supported. Our foodbank continues to provide practical assistance to all needing the help. That is done as major Tuesdays food distribution and collection big events whilst drop-in's and self-collection from food-baskets, from Mondays through Fridays 9-5pm (6pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Christian counselling and Christ messages of hope, faith, resilience continue to be put out in form of sermons, training, and publications. Check-ups on individuals who can be classed or considered as being lonely all these being part of our charitable objectives to our local community, and gradually lifting those measures following government directives. Our sports outreaches continue. Senior ladies craft club now holds every Thursday in chapel. Despite the impact being made, the foodbank continues to face certain challenges in sustaining and expanding its reach. One of the most pressing issues is the lack of stable means of food collections. At present, the charity relies heavily on the goodwill of volunteers who use their private vehicles to collect food from various donation points. While this support is valuable, it significantly limits the volume of supplies we are able to gather each week. A dedicated collection van, supported by external funding to also cover the cost of a driver would make a tremendous difference. It would allow the foodbank to collect larger quantities of donations consistently, reduce the burden on volunteers, and ultimately ensure that more families and individuals in need receive timely and adequate assistance. ## Our Charitable Donations for 2024 We continued to engage and support other charitable ventures and like-minded Organisations as those listed below in 2024: ·World Evangelism Fund: to RCCG UK £19,228 ·Central Office Fund (COF): £1,200 ·Missions and Outreach £ £1894 ## INITIATIVES / INNOVATION: New events and outreaching hosted include. ·The year 2024 focused on entering the new year with more innovations and Strengthening of Marriages, Courtships, relation- ships and family wellbeing and also with more emphasis on CSR ·Programs and events were organized with the purpose of reaching out to our communities, engaging with them and connecting them through small groups, serving together, nurturing spiritual growth and empowering them for ministry and community wellbeing. As part of this focus, the following events and programs were put together across various social media and online Platforms as well as onsite and to celebrate people and encourage many. 2 of 18 ## RCCG Jesus House Aberdeen Report of the Trustees Continued ## For the year ended 31 December 2024 ## Mother's Day Sunday: Mother's Day is a special occasion to honor and appreciate the selfless love and dedication of mothers around the world. This day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor, as we engaged the community to come together expressing their gratitude to their mothers and mother figures. The Mother's Day celebration was a truly unforgettable experience, filled with music, laughter, and tears of joy. It was a wonderful tribute to the selfless love and dedication of mothers everywhere, and a reminder of the importance of honoring and appreciating them every day ## Sister's Prayer Retreat: Jesus House Sisters Prayer Retreat themed 'Woman Awake' took place in November 2024 when the women convened to give themselves to God in prayer. It was a time of uninterrupted fellowship, intercession, encouragement, counselling and repositioning. Testimonies of God's faithfulness were shared to boost the faith of others before the commencement of prayers. ## Hebrew Women Meetings: This meeting is organized to encourage expectant mothers and those awaiting their babies. Expectant mothers that bring forth their babies were supported with periodic visitation, gifts and help in settling well with the new baby. Supports usually last long till the new mother is fit to carry on alone. ## Wedding Preparatory ## Weekly Women Prayer: This event focus on rejuvenating community and encouraging them through spiritual growth and enlightenment. ## Ladies' Get away: The Ladies Get-Away which held at Ardoe Hotel in Aberdeen was a highly anticipated event that brought together women for a weekend of fun, fellowship and empowerment. The event which took place from Friday 15th to Saturday 16th November 2024, was a huge success with over 200 women in attendance. The Ladies Get Away featured an impressive lineup of inspiring speakers, who shared their stories, experiences, and life lessons with the audience. From motivational talks on self-care and self-love to practical workshops on personal development, the speakers were informative, engaging, and empowering. The Ladies Get-Away in Aberdeen was a huge success as it provided a fun, relaxing, and empowering experience for attendees. With its range of games, speakers, shows, and workshops, the event had something for everyone, and the ladies left feeling inspired, motivated, and rejuvenated. ## Children's Day Sunday: The 2024 Children's Day celebration held in May 2024 was a joyous and memorable event, themed "Remain In Me". The day featured special rendition by the children, a graduation ceremony, bible reading, and inspiring messages that encouraged the young ones to remain rooted in their faith. The graduation ceremony was a significant milestone for the children who were transitioning from the Junior Church to the Teens Church. The graduates, beaming with pride, received personalised bibles and were welcomed by older teenagers into the Teens Church. ## Summer Study Class: 2024 Summer Study Class saw 35 enthusiastic teenagers gathered for a transformative study class, designed to prepare them ahead of the next academic year and upcoming major examination and for personal development. It also focused on equipping teenagers with essential life skills and meaningful connections with peers and mentors. ## Father's Day Sunday: On a special weekend in June, fathers in the community were celebrated in a grand style. Father's Day 2024 adopted the form of a 3-day event featuring a workshop empowering men on 3 Battles Every Man Must Win'' fun times, games and entertainment to help them relax. Throughout the event, several fathers shared their testimonies, expressing their gratitude for the gift of fatherhood and the joy of raising their children. Their stories were inspiring and encouraging, reminding us of the importance of family and the role that fathers play in shaping the next generation. Fathers' Day celebration was a wonderful reminder of the importance of godly fatherhood and the impact that fathers have on their families. We are grateful for the fathers in our community who model Christ-like behavior and provide spiritual leadership for their families. ## Jesus House Aberdeen Career & Entrepreneurship Workshops: The Career and Entrepreneurship Group was established following the inspiration of Peniel Camp Meeting 2023, themed "Spirit of Inventions and Innovation." With a vision to empower the community in building businesses, 2024 saw the group organize monthly meetings and career development workshops aimed at equipping members with entrepreneurial and professional skills. Over the past year, the group successfully hosted eight impactful events, facilitated £8,000 in funding for 3 of 18 ## RCCG Jesus House Aberdeen Report of the Trustees Continued ## For the year ended 31 December 2024 a promising startup, and forged strategic partnerships to advance its mission of capacity building and growth in the community. Jesus House Aberdeen Workshop: Settlement for new arrivals: ## North-Sea Gosh'Pel Music festival: 2024 themed Aberdeen Shall Rise Again held during Easter in April at Castle Gate. North-Sea Gosh'pel Music Festival brought Hope and Inspiration to Castle Gate and the whole of Aberdeen. the outreach event aimed to bring hope, inspiration, and joy to the local community through the universal language of music. As the crowd gathered at Castle Gate, they were treated to a series of uplifting ministrations that left a lasting impact on all who attended. The event was a beautiful expression of the city's rich cultural heritage and its people's unwavering spirit. The North-Sea Gospel Music Festival was more than just a concert - it was a time of unity and celebration for the people of Aberdeen. As the crowd sang along to the music, it was clear that this was an event that transcended denominational boundaries and cultural divides. In a city that has often been defined by its industrial heritage, the festival was a powerful reminder that Aberdeen's true strength lies in its people - their resilience, their compassion, and their unwavering commitment to their community. ## Jesus House Family 20th Anniversary themed; If It Had Not Been God on Side A hearty congratulations to Jesus House Aberdeen on achieving this great milestone of being in existence for 20 years and celebrated the 20th Anniversary with an array of inspirational and memorable events spanning nine days. Part of the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the church, the church engages with the community in delivering a summer employment workshop, with service of songs and unveiling the Planter by Lord Provost David Cameron. We also engage the community during the Jesus House Family Sport Day. The Aberdeen Sport Village came alive as children, teenagers, youths, parent, and everyone gathered for the annual sport event. There was marching session, different games and sides attraction which brought the community together in the spirit of unity. Peniel 2024 tagged Exciting New Territories held July 2024 onsite and via other of our social media like YouTube, Facebook. The Peniel Camp Meeting has been a beloved tradition for 19 years, providing a unique opportunity for believers and the community to come together, worship, discover and seek spiritual growth. This year's event was a resounding success, attracting hundreds of attendees from all of our parishes within and outside the United Kingdom with their friends in attendance. The camp meeting was a testament to the power of faith, community, and spiritual renewal. It was a seven-day camp meeting packed with many sessions and exciting events for adults, youths, teens and children and the outside community. In 2024 August, the Youth Central an outreach themed Setting Priorities Right at Smithfield, Aberdeen. ## JESUS HOUSE ABERDEEN FOOD BANK Over the years, the Jesus House Aberdeen Food Bank has exemplified the love and provided succour to our community and also for the general populace of the Granite City (Aberdeen). Beyond the provision of basic food items and groceries, the food bank has been a place of rest, relaxation, encouragement and prayer. Thanks to the contributing organisations and partners, grocery items are distributed every week to registered participants as well as to first timers who leave the food bank with smiles and bags full of goodies. The food bank has been a blessing indeed. For this purpose, the support includes: ## ·Hospitality & Welfare £10464.47 ## Jesus House Aberdeen Choir outreaches with the following details: The Jesus House Aberdeen choir has been taking their music ministry to the streets, sharing the love of God and spreading joy through a series of outreach events across the city. From singing at local shopping centres and community events to performing at care homes, the choir has been using its talents to bring hope and cheer to those around them. Their energetic and uplifting ministrations have been a hit with audiences of all ages and have helped to share the message of God's love and redemption with the community. 4 of 18 ## RCCG Jesus House Aberdeen Report of the Trustees Continued ## For the year ended 31 December 2024 One of the highlights of the choir's outreach efforts in 2024 was a ministration at the West Hill Care Home, where residents and staff were treated to a special concert featuring a range of christmas carols and hymns. The event was a huge success, with many residents and their families with staff members commenting on the positive impact the carol had on their day and having to bring Christmas to the home. ## OTHER OUTREACHES: - -Gospel at the mall during our 20th Anniversary -Ministration at Crathie Kirk in Balmoral Estate at the invitation of the Royal Family - -Ministration at Society of Petroleum Engineers Anniversary -Ministration at 30th Anniversary of African Women - -Christmas at the Mall The Jesus House Aberdeen choir's outreach efforts are an important part of the church's mission to serve the community and share the love of God through music. By taking their music out into the community, the choir were able to reach people who may not be able to attend regular church services and bring a message of hope and joy to those who need it most. ## Annual BBQ Outreach at Seaton Park On this very beautiful day at Seaton Park, the sun was shining bright, the grill was sizzling hot, and the atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement as the community gathered for the Annual Family Barbeque. This highly anticipated event was a huge success, bringing together families for a fun-filled afternoon of good food, great company, amazing music and warm weather. The event featured a range of fun and games to keep everyone entertained. as the dancing to high praises was in the air. One of the best things about the Annual Family Barbeque was the sense of unity that filled the air. It was an opportunity to unwind from the daily stress that everyone encounters. The event was a powerful reminder of the importance of coming together and building strong relationships with those around us. ## Student welcome brunch: September & October Marriage and Relationships: Valentine February Edition; May Edition and October ## Soundz of Zion Music Concert 2024 The highly anticipated music concert by Soundz of Zion was a resounding success, leaving the youths in awe of the group's incredible talent and energy. The concert, which took place at Jesus House Aberdeen in November brought together youths from diverse community with music. The group, known for their unique blend of gospel delivered a high-energy rendition that had everyone on their feet from start to finish. Their set list featured a mix of original songs and popular gospel hits, all delivered with passion, precision, and a deep commitment. The concert was a fitting tribute to the group's name, Soundz of Zion, which reflects their mission to spread the message of hope, and love to the community of Aberdeen through their music. With their uplifting sound and inspiring ministration, Soundz of Zion proved once again why they are ready to go places in the near future. ## Prophetic Conference 2024: We were privileged to experience the Prophetic Conference Aberdeen organised by Jesus Ministries which was held at our church. It was a three-day powerful conference. This was held in September. it was well attended by participants from 25 countries which are: Switzerland, Portugal, Luxembourg, Nigeria, France, America, Ireland, Romania, United Kingdom, Austria, Canada, Togo, Netherlands, Uganda, Italy, Sweden, Iceland, Kenya, South Africa, ghana, Zimbabwe, malawi, Eritrea, Singapour and Zambia. The information received during the conference confirmed that Aberdeen, among many other cities in Scotland, was a place of revival. Once again, through the Prophetic Conference, God poured out His Spirit in Aberdeen. We continued in 2024 to Partner and still works in collaboration with other charities such as CFINE (Community Food Initiatives Northeast) in Aberdeen, COSTCO and ACTS.435 in England in the area of poverty alleviation towards the people of Aberdeen due to the crisis experiences in the city of Aberdeen to help people transit to new ways of living as return from transition to normal was overtaken by the impact of Ukraine war leading to vast increases in living costs, energy prices, rentals, etc. The year 2024 was supposed to be full return from global Pandemic and lockdowns (which brought about a lot of untold difficulties and hardship to Individuals, families, and Humans in general that affected their social, works life and general 5 of 18 ## RCCG Jesus House Aberdeen Report of the Trustees Continued ## For the year ended 31 December 2024 wellbeing). 2024 became challenging in new ways rather than full return to post-pandemic normalcy. We continued in 2024, building on our focus as a Church deeply rooted and connected to the Aberdeen community. We continued to step out, taking great initiative, rally around members and nonmembers, looking out for them, encouraging them via the word of God, through hybrid (onsite and online) meetings, seminars, workshops encouraging them of the need to stay connected, for their general wellbeing, be resilient, offering support in form of Food banks services, delivering meals and raw foods to families in needs. Because of many new families arriving in the city post-pandemic, accommodation and jobs became hard to secure leading to need for supporting new challenges. Some of the initiatives of previous years we continued with and started new ones to help multitude of new arrivals. We acquired new e-system for managing and connecting with members and congregations. We welcome the generous donations and greater collaborative works to reach out to the wider Aberdeen community and through this exercise a great number of households were reached and blessed. The foodbank has significantly grown and as at today more than 50 households are registered with the foodbank and representing families comprising Adults, Male and Female youths and young children. Numerous others visit the self-pick center which runs during office hours. All these were achieved through the wonderful assistance of our dedicated Volunteers contributing man-hours and their personal resources to ensure the success of food de- livery program. Future Plans: 2025 ·Increase church membership and discipleship. ·Settle and integrate new joiners and new arrivals in the city. ·Strengthen neighborhood fellowship centers ·Increase number and depth of volunteers. ·Strategy retreats for future for January 2025 ·Revise the building capacity maintenance and constrains. ·New audio-visual system for Holburn building. ·Planning for cafe area for first flour upper hall ·Seek ways to increase income and other resources of the church. ·Easter Mission to City of Aberdeen at Castle-gate ·Embark on Mission and Evangelism to 10 Cities in Scotland in 2025 ·Deepen collaboration with Aberdeen Churches Together, Church of Scotland and other ecumenical platforms. ·SBIS/Jesus Life Academy for specific discipleship training will be expanded in 2024. ·Peniel-Camp meeting to hold in July 2025 ·Deepening and widening our outreaches across the Islands of Nations ·Mission2Iceland 2025 to plant a church. ·Mission2Orkney 2025 to plant a church ·Total family Conference will hold in October. ·Mountain-Climbing and Prayers in Summer ·Family BBQ In August 2025 with the aim to primarily encourage bonding and also Provide support for Families. ·New initiatives in conjunction with other charities established to support the needy families, especially those worst-hit by the fall-out of global events. ·Strengthen the activities of the youth group ViZion and Tribe ·Creation of the Youth Arm of the church to have their separate service in a separate building. ·Deepen outreaches and positive influencing of campuses via the good work and engagement often youth group ViZion. ·Support Missions to the three Balkans Nations in 2025 ·Start First Mondays Entrepreneurship Club ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** The charity received overall income of £282,751 (2022: £220,843) during the year, which is a 28% increase from last year. Total expenditure increased by 20% to £267491 (2022: £223,777) giving rise to a loss of £15,260 The highest expenditures as expected, continue to be Wages, Depreciation and Peniel expenses (annual conference). ## **Reserves** The trustees aim to maintain a level of reserves which enable the charity to sustain its charitable activities and they consider that the current reserves level is sufficient. 6 of 18 ## RCCG Jesus House Aberdeen Report of the Trustees Continued ## For the year ended 31 December 2024 ## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT** ## **Governing document** The charity is controlled by its governing document. ## Organisational structure The charity's operations are overseen by the Board of Trustees who meet regularly to monitor progress and plan future initiatives. ## Risk management The major risks to which the charity is exposed, as identified by the trustees, have been reviewed and procedures have been established to manage those risks. ## **Recruitment and appointment of trustees** Trustees are selected from members of the parish and are appointed by the agreement of the existing trustees. The first trustees hold office for 5 years. There shall be at least three trustees. Accounting Policies** ## **Basis of accounting** The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, except for investments which are included at market value and the revaluation of certain fixed assets and in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) ‘Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102), and the Companies Act 2006. RCCG Jesus House Aberdeen meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy note(s). ## **Funds** Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes. Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements. ## **Incoming resources** All incoming resources are included in the statement of financial activities when the Charity is entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. The following specific policies are applied to particular categories of income: ## **Resources expended** Liabilities are recognised as resources expended when there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the Charity to the expenditure: ## **Taxation** ## **Tangible fixed assets** Tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, are stated at cost or valuation less depreciation and any provision for impairment.
