Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of citizenship or community development','the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended'

Wiston Lodge offers people, especially the young and those who are vulnerable or at risk, the time and space to learn and grow, be challenged, and have fun, make friends, as well as memories. Our mission is to empower individuals through transformative outdoor experiences. We believe in the inherent value of outdoor education in fostering personal growth, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. To do this we: > Deliver tailored learning programmes to children and young people, vulnerable adults, and to the staff of the organisations' that support them. > Work with our surrounding community to support, sustain and build a brighter future for our local area. > Offer our hospitality, recreational facilities and training to groups who support our charitable purpose. The core programmes we run to support our mission are: > Adventure activities > Nature connections (bushcraft, forest skills) > Music and Art > Renewable Energy Education

Objectives: (a) To provide physical, mental and spiritual challenge in a safe and sheltered residential environment for all users, but especially young people who are vulnerable and at risk. to enable the development of respect for oneself, others and the environment and to encourage lifestyles which are simple, non-violent and free from destructive dependencies (b) To promote educational, social and recreational facilities and activities in communities. c) To encourage the use of Wiston Lodge Living School facilities for activities for disadvantaged groups. These groups could include the elderly, disabled, homeless, those requiring further basic education, unemployed etc.(This list is not exhaustive, and the decision to include an applicant or area of work lies with the Company Board by a simple majority vote).
