Activities
'It makes grants, donations or gifts to organisations','It carries out activities or services itself'
'the prevention or relief of poverty','the advancement of education','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'
We assist worthwhile development projects and programmes in the poorest countries of the world and provide emergency aid through charities and others working in areas that have suffered natural disasters and famine. Projects are supported on the basis of need and the potential to make a real difference to human, social and economic development. We look for quality of management, feedback, environmental and financial sustainability and value for money. We also raise awareness of these issues within the Parish community. How we do this: We raise funds through regular online donations, donations received at One World Breakfasts, approx. every 2 months, We also held a Craft Fayre and had a Carol Concert this year. We disburse at meetings held every 3 months. We inform parishioners through our noticeboard and newsletter We lead stations of the cross in Lent using SCIAF material We spoke to a local cub group!
Objectives: To relieve poverty suffering and distress and to preserve and protect the health of persons living necessitous circumstances in developing countries in particular Africa Asia and Latin America, by the provision of financial and/or practical assistance so that their conditions of life may be improved. To advance the education of the people of Dunfermline and West Fife and elsewhere of the problems of world poverty and the plight and suffering of those affected
