Recruitment and appointment of Trustees
All of the Tru5Ys trustees are appointed or reappointed by the members at
our annual general meeting which this vear was held on 5 November 2022.
There were no changes to the Tn￿￿S primary Offi￿ holders this year, with
Stuart Macintyre being reappointed as Chairnian, and Paul Edwards as
Secretary. Dr Anna Macintyre and Shukla Bose were reappointed as
Trustees, and Vasant Chari was also appointed as a new Trustee as of 3
January 2023. Stuart Macintyre and Paul Edwards are also Trnstees of the
Trust.
Governing document
The charity is constituted as a Trust and the purposes and administration
arrangements are set out in our deed of Trust. dated 28th February 2006.
Charitable PUTpose5
Our purposes, as recorded in our deed of Trust, involve the relief of poverty
and the advan￿rnent of education amongst diildren and young people in
developing countries with a particular focus on India.

Activities in the UK
During the year 2022-23 we continued to support the work of the Parikrma
Humanity Foundation (PHF) in Bangalore, &)uthern India. PHF Bangalore
was established in 2(K)3 as a non-profit organi7Ation committed to providing
high quality education for children from under-served urban communities
in the local area from kindergarten through to LX)llegeluniversity.
PHF UK Trust continued to re￿]ve generous donations from a number of
individuals and organisaiions who have raised funds on behalf of PHF, or
made ongoing contributions thmugh child sponsorship and one-off
donations.
Finanaal Year 2022-23 saw a small in(Tease in the value of donations from
the prior year, although still not at the levels seen prior to the pandemic.
Donations in 2022-23 were £32.981, and an increase from £29,210 in 2021-22.
with recent years, there were notable donations from Dr. Melissa
Esposito (£11.117). Fotis - an educational charity based in Switzerland
(£4,743). and we also received a donation of £4,373 from a long-standing
German donor Ulrich Baeumer.
During the year PHF UK Trust was able to make a further £34,(￿ donation
to PHF in Bangalore. bringing to £567567 the totsl donated Sin￿ PHF UK
was established.
With the ex￿ptiOn of SI￿[fiC student sponsorship, all funds Taised and
donated have been provided to the PHF in Bangalore to support the
continued running and expansion of the schools and curriculum, further
details of which a￿ contained in the update below.

Parikrnia Impact 2022
Zero suicides!
When Paiikrnia began its schools in 2(X13, one of the critical issues faced was
the suicide rates in the slums we work with. We are proud to say that the
number of suicides has decreased to zero because of our ongoing counselling
of students and families, despite the turbulent years we all faced because of
the pandemic.
The success of NIOS
ro
We launched the NIOS program a couple of years ago for some of our
students who have challenges followins the regular curriculum but have
extraordinary talent in art, music and a few different subjects. We believe
that all diiIdren have unique skills and should not be straight-jacketed to
follow a pattern that discourages them and affects.their self-esteem.
Impact:
We recently distributed ￿rtIfiCateS to our students who did amazingly well
in the Board exams with l(K) percent pass.

Parikrnia Inside
As part of the Parikrnia Inside Progra￿ we inaugurated the summer school
at the gOVernm￿t schools in Bashetihalli and Ellupura - A 10-day program
combining education and fun! The Block Education Officer BEO addressed
the students. Parikrnia Foundation has so far adopted several government
schools, where the Parikrnia Way model is being implemented to aid the
teachers and students and make learning experiential and wholesome.
Clinic on Wheels
IndiaAssetz and the Pariknna Foundation launched Prana - Clinic on
Wheels: a primary augmented ne(Trmedical aid. The model (with six beds)
will serve as a Mobile ICU with oxygen support - the faality has already

been used to vaccinate hundreds of children and families from the slums.
The mobile clinic will Servi￿ thousands living in over 110 slums in
Bengaluru-a bis shout out to Sai Narain and Selco Foundation.
Solar
We inaugurated a solar energy system at our Jayanagar School - supported
and funded by the Selco Foundation and Wells Fargo. This shift will ensure
energy reliability for Staff and residentslstudents, redu￿ future electiicity
bills. increase climate resilien￿. and redu￿ C02 emissions.

Parikrnia Sahakarnagar knool is ranked India's 10th Most Admired
Philanthropic School by Educationworld India 2022-23. To compile EWISR
2022-23, 11,458 sample respondents - educationists, prinapals, teachers,
SECA {socio-economic category A) parents and senior school students -
28 cities countrywide were interviewed by 118 C fore field researchers over
four months (June-september). The annual EWISR is the world's largest
school ranking survey.
Parikrnia Football Clubs
The Pariknna Girls Football Club now has girls from Temote regions of
Bengal, Assam, Orissa, Manipur. Madhya PradeslL and Karnataka playing
professional football. Tara Anand won the Best Defender award at the
Karnataka Women's Super-Division tEague 2022- 2023. Two Pariknna Boys
Football Club players- Bhanu Prakash and Tharun 11 represented Karnataka
in the National League 2022.

The Market Readiness Pro

The program is a practical project designed for Grade 12 business study
students. Split into teams, the groups ideate on a product or service. The
busine￿ idea is meant to be innovative and practical and offer a solution for
existÈng pain points of custotners. Market research goes into the project with
test marketing of prototypes and feedback. A team of internal and external
judges from aIt walks of life review the ideas and products. Several leaders
from diverse fields have held workshops and talks as part of the program.

biggest crises today: Climate Change.

Government Schools adopted by Parikrnia (two in the Bangalore North

sensitive school environment, transforniing the teaching and learning
pro￿5S, and increasing student achievement and parental involvement in
the next five years.
