**What the charity does:** It receives grant applications from individuals, groups/clubs or organisations who are based within the community. These applications are first submitted to the local community council to determine if sufficient community benefit is reached and they then make a recommendation of approval or rejection to the trustees. If recommended, the trustees then consider if the application meets the minimum funding criteria and those which do are offered a financial award.

**Objectives:** The Trustees shall from time to time and at any time in their uncontrolled discretion, but subject always to the discretionary powers conferred on them under sub-clause 3(ii) and clause 6 hereof, pay or apply the capital and the income of the Trust Estate, in sums of such amount as the Trustees in their absolute discretion may decide but only for any one or more or all of the following purposes, videlicet:- (a) for the provision of community benefit in ways that are charitable in law including but not limited to advancing the education of the public concerning energy efficiency and the environment and providing facilities for the inhabitants of the Strathdeam area in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved.  (b) to or for the benefit of such one or more charitable institution or charitable institutions, or, for implementing or assisting to implement any charitable purpose or charitable purposes, as the Trustees in their uncontrolled discretion may from time to time select.
