New trustees can be appointed at any time throughout the year. ## **Management** The Executive Management Team, the governing body as determined by the Constitution, is referred to as the Trustees in this report. **Page 2** **INVERCLYDE CHRISTIAN INITIATIVE TRUSTEES’ REPORT & FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 NOVEMBER 2025** ## **Objectives and Activities** ## **Charitable Purposes** Our purposes, as set out in the Constitution, are to promote and provide for the dissemination and exchange of knowledge and information; to take part in and/or conduct educational and training programs, courses, seminars and events of all kinds directed towards the acquisition or development of skills which are relevant to the group and its objects. ## **Achievements and Performance** Inverclyde Christian Initiative was set up as a registered charity to implement a number of public outreach activities desired by those within the original prayer group, Inverclyde Intercessors, and since its operation it conducted a number of public activities including outreaches of various types. In more recent times this has included the introduction of Healing Rooms in 2007, a 10-day outreach with members of Times Square church in New York in 2009, Street Pastors in 2010 and Rail Pastors in 2017. We undertook a further Civic Prayer event on 13[th] March 2025 in the Greenock Town Hall Saloon which once again was very well received and another will be held in May 2026 Our Street Pastor activities continue, and we hope this will increase as new trainees come forward. We have been able to continue the shorter day patrol at lunchtimes in Greenock town centre which have been well received. We also started weekly lunchtime patrols around Inverclyde Academy with the permission of the school and these have gone well. Our Rail Pastor service continues with success and is valued by both ScotRail and Network Rail. Notably, we learned of a 14 year boy’s suicide intention from bullying was averted after speaking with one of our volunteers. A strong focus for our Trustees remains young people. A monthly prayer time continues for young people led by Inverclyde Youth for Christ and a number of volunteers were trained in Scripture Union’s Bible Alive presentations which we hope to introduce in two or more local primary schools. The Trustees remain grateful to God for His continued faithfulness and encouragement to us in this ministry in Inverclyde. We were very sad to lose the services of our Chairperson and also our Street Pastor Coordinator, Alistair McAlees in March 2026, after 20 years as a Trustee and 15 years as our Street Pastor Coordinator. The trustees want to record their great appreciation to Alistair for his commitment and the strengths the brought to both roles. Chris Jewell was subsequently appointed Interim Chairperson and Interim Street Pastor Coordinator. ## **Financial Review** The charity generated income of £3,320 (2024: £2,145) through grants and donations and met charitable activity costs of £5,438 (2024: £6,237), incurring a net deficit of £2,117 (2023: £4,091). **Page 3** **INVERCLYDE CHRISTIAN INITIATIVE TRUSTEES’ REPORT & FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 NOVEMBER 2025** ## **Reserves Policy** As at 30 November 2025 the initiative had total reserves of £429 (2024: £2,547). These reserves in opinion of trustees, are sufficient to continue our operations in 2025-26 along with continuing fundraising activities and a further grant agreed by Inverclyde Council of £2,000. ## **Plans for the future** The charity will continue with its regular outreaches and activities with added emphasis on young people. As mentioned, we hope to introduce Scripture Union Scotland’s resource called Bible Alive in two or more Inverclyde Primary schools as a test and then to roll out to more primary schools. Our Street Pastors patrolling at Inverclyde Academy’s nearby food outlets will continue with a view to introducing School Pastors within the school. In addition to our weekly stand in the local shopping mall, we are keen to widen to include a weekly presence in a local coffee shop assuming permissions and adequate resources. Chris Jewell Trustee Page 4 **INVERCLYDE CHRISTIAN INITIATIVE TRUSTEES’ REPORT & FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 NOVEMBER 2025** ## **Independent Examiner’s Report For the Year Ended 30 November 2025** I report on the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30 November 2025, which are set out on pages 6 to 9. ## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and independent examiner** The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (‘the 2005 Act’) and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity’s trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Regulations does not apply. Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company law and is eligible for independent examination, it is my responsibility to state, on the basis of my examination, whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of Independent Examiner’s Statement** My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. ## **Independent Examiner’s Statement** In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements:- - to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44 (1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Regulations, and - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Regulations have not been met, or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. ........................................................... Basis of Accounting** These accounts have been prepared on the Receipts and Payments basis in accordance with the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) ## **2. General Information** Inverclyde Christian Initiative ("the charity") is an unincorporated association governed by its constitution dated 19 November 2005. It was registered as a charity in Scotland (registered number SC036983) on 19 November 2005. Its registered address is 43a Esplanade, Greenock, PA16 7RY. ## **3. Nature and Purpose of Funds** Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity. The trustees maintain a single unrestricted fund for the day-to-day running of the charity. Restricted funds may only be used for specific purposes.
