Five principles run through this programme (the five essentials). working together in small groups, encourage self-government and decision making, a balanced and varied programme that is girl-led, caring for the individual and sharing a commitment to a common standard.

**Objectives:** Promoting the instruction of girls of all classes in the principles of discipline, loyalty, and good citizenship.
