BCDC are a development trust in the north east of Glasgow that owns and operates 3 community facilities. Our mission is to provide economic and social regeneration in an area impacted by multiple levels of deprivation.

Objectives: The Objects are specifically restricted to the promotion for the public benefit of urban regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation in the Glasgow City Council Electoral Ward No. 17, as outlined by the Map attached as Appendix 1 and hereinafter referred to as “the Operating Area” by all or any of the following means: 5.1 the relief of poverty. 5.2 the advancement of education, training or retraining, particularly among unemployed people, and providing unemployed people with work experience. 5.3 the creation of training and employment opportunities by the provision of workspace, buildings and/or land for use on favourable terms. 5.4 the improvement of housing in the public sector or in charitable ownership (provided that such power shall not extend to relieving any local authority or other bodies of a statutory duty to provide or improve housing). 5.5 the maintenance, improvement or provision of public amenities. 5.6 the provision or assistance in the provision of recreational facilities for the public at large and/or those who, by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances, have need of such facilities. 5.7 the promotion of public safety and prevention of crime. and 5.8 such other means as may from time to time be determined, subject to the directors having satisfied themselves that such other means can reasonably be regarded as being in direct furtherance of a charitable purpose (within the meaning of the statutory provisions referred to above).
