Th8 past year has not been wthout its challenges due to Covid-19. In March 2020 the first
lockdovm was announced and we had to qulckly vacate our office and work from hJme.
This meant that outreaches and fa¢frt¢Fface contaci had to cease.
Our ways of working began to d)ange and video ￿lIS quid(ly became the 'nonn'. Due to
these new way5 of wothing home visits (lo O￿leCt and drop off paperwork) Increased
slgnlflcantly and w8re onty outdoors. Social Security Tribun81s were temporarily suspénded
and then mov8d on to remote (teleplx)ne) tribunats. The staff and oJmmitt88 worked hard to
secure funding to enable us to purchase IT equipment to equip staff to work from home. We
also Sourced funding to enable us to purchase PPE equipment to 8nabl8 everyone to V￿rk
safety. Equipment was then purchased to enable volunteers to assist dients from home.
In March 2020 funder5 began lo remove restrictions from fundiro lo enable us to direct our
assistance where it was needed most. As lockd¢)wn commenced we worked bJether with
local organisations to provid8 supplies and pr8Ctic21 support to lo(xl p80pIe.

One positiv8 over the past year has been that stsff and volunteers have b88n able to access
training remotely. This has saved both time and money and. in some instanc*s. we have
bèen able to access free training.
Over the past year we have helped 141 dlents and dealt wtth 303 enquiries. Alihough our
f￿ureS are significantly lo*pr than previous years this represents the fact that we have made
a con5clous declsion to focus Jess on 'ontroff assistance and are moving towards provrding
more intenslve support In order to have a m￿8 lastlng impact on dients.

W8 have been awarded 3-ye8r fundfftg from the Natlonal Lottery c￿munity Fund for our
Supporting Families ProiecL This wll enable us to work with finan(aally disadvant8ged families
on 8 1-1 basis to wovide a fo￿SSed service lackling the impact of poverty on the who18 family.
Whilst our organisation coped ￿11 with adaptlNJ to CovKI-19 and lockdowns w8 feel it is
important that the organisation continually assesses our methods of woTkirg to ensure that
we are fully prepared for situations such as Covit>19. To this end w8 plan to continue lo
pgrade equipmenvresources to enable productive home workinglhome volunteering.

It is particularfy important that we access suitable online training, particularty wth regard to
welfare rights volunteers to ensure Continuing Professional Deveknpment for the smooth
runnlng of the organisatlon.
We have also re(x)gnised the 'limltatlons' of paper fith whllst homew￿1n9 and, to this end,
the organisation will be mov7ng on to a 'doud based. cas8 manag8m8nt syst8m in the future.
