Monifieth Community Resource Group was set up to raise funds for the construction of a new Community Centre in Monifieth We promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Monifieth and its environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organizations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved. In furtherance thereof, but not otherwise, the Group shall seek to establish, maintain and manage a community centre for charitable activities promoted by the group and its constituent members.

Objectives: The organisation’s purposes are: Advancement of citizenship and community development To advance citizenship and community development through the provision of a community centre (The MAC – Monifieth Activity Centre) with a range of inclusive facilities, activities and services to promote social inclusion and community participation. Provision of recreational, educational, and cultural activities To provide recreational, educational, cultural and community facilities and activities. including the operation of a community caf? and learning kitchen as part of the Monifieth Activity Centre. that enhance quality of life, promote health and wellbeing, and create opportunities for social interaction and personal development for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. Relief of those in need To relieve those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, through targeted initiatives, support programmes and partnerships with other local service providers.
