The charity’s objective is to promote the knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the arts, especially jazz music as an artform. The company aims to achieve this goal through the promotion of concerts and music festivals, particularly Aberdeen, Dundee and Islay Jazz Festivals. As well as festival production Jazz Scotland delivers an educational programme, artist development initiatives, and works ethically with community partners to produce meaningful activity.

Objectives: To advance the education of the public in the art of Jazz and related musics and in furtherance thereof shall seek: (1) To organise and support concerts, competitions, events, recordings, publications and research involving or related to the music. (2) To provide facilities for the performance of the music in public. (3) To promote the study, practice and development of such music. (4) To promote and provide workshops. (5) To carry on any other activities which further these objects.
