Giffordtown Village Hall Committee was set up with a constitution to benefit the inhabitants of the 4 Hamlets of Giffordtown, Charlottetown, Edentown and Kinloch and their environs. 

We endeavour to maintain and manage Giffordtown Village Hall by facilitating a range of activities and letting the hall to local groups which support health and well being for all without discrimination. 

The events we organise are a mixture of regular and one-off activities and there is usually at least one event every month which can be viewed on the calendar on our website at Giffordtownvillagehall.org.uk 

The board of trustees at present comprises

We aim to provide an interesting programme of events throughout the year, as well as letting the Hall to a number of users for regular, one-off, or occasional events. Regular users include a monthly Country Dance Group, the Quarry Liaison Group and the Gifford and District Community Council. We run monthly drop-in coffee mornings. For the past six months we have run Pilates and Yoga classes, which were originally set up by a Wellbeing Club whose other activities have now ceased. We try to offer a 



wide range of activities, which we hope offer something for everyone, but in common with many small rural communities, we have to work hard to raise support from a society which find so many entertainments in their own homes or elsewhere. We try to raise awareness of our activities through our community Whats App groups, Facebook, our local quarterly newsletter, The Hamlets Gazette, and posters throughout each hamlet and the surrounding area. 

In the past year we have promoted the following events; 

An Easter Egg painting afternoon, Bread and Soup Lunch, Annual Coffee Morning and Plant Sale, a Summer Barbeque, Morrocan Food Night and a Silent Film Night with live piano accompaniment. 

We had a financial surplus this year which can be explained partly by Lets paid for by the Wellbeing Group set up by the community council. 

The first responsibility of the Hall Committee is to maintain the building to a high standard so that we may safely use it. Costs can arise unexpectedly, which is why we try to maintain our reserves from year to year to around £4000.Our only outside financial support comes from our annual recurring grant from Fife Council.
