To promote local history and encourage folk to learn more about the history of the area. We hold regular meetings, with guest speakers, and hold periodic exhibitions which are free to attend.
Objectives: To encourage and promote the study and general knowledge of the history of the area To foster an interest in local history To collect, collate and store information in whatever form available from all possible sources To organise and hold regular meetings, including contributions from outside speakers and from members To publish material of local interest To promote and encourage the provision of a local history archive and exhibition facilities a To take part in, or support, any activities connected directly or indirectly with the foregoing aims
