Scottish Charity Number - SC034987 Kings House Perth Accounts 31 March 2024 ## **Kings House Perth Trustees' report** The Trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2024. ## **Trustees throughout the year and at the date of this report** ## **Structure, governance and management** The Trust was recognised as a Scottish charity with effect from 23 July 2003. The Trust is administered in accordance with the terms of the Trust Deed. The Trust deed was amended on 13 December 2009. The trustees who served during the financial year were appointed in accordance with the Trust Deed. Appointment and removal is in accordance with the Trust Deed which requires that appointment is by resolution of a meeting of the Trustees and removal of any trustee by a resolution of the trustees. ## **Objectives and activities** The objects of the charity are: - to advance Christianity in Scotland and elsewhere - to relieve poverty and those who are in need because of sickness or age or some other reason - to advance education both general and vocational for children or adults but always within the principles of the Christian faith - to promote such other charitable objects as the Trustees shall from time to time consider appropriate ## **Summary of the main activities in relation to these objects** The church has had public meetings on most Sundays over the year and the Christian gospel has been preached. Young people and children both have meetings on a Sunday with teaching and activities. Time has been given to addressing specific needs which people have had and meetings in homes have continued. The church completed several church events and open houses for socialising and building community. 1 ## **Kings House Perth Trustees' report** ## **Achievements and performance** The church continued to meet regularly on Sundays and during the week and provide care to those within the community. During the period the church supported CAP(debt relief and support) and continued to help with Safefamilies (support of vulnerable families within Perthshire), who found new premises to establish their work. A gift was made to a local sister church for their building project. The church leadership supports and attends the local group of pastors and leaders in Perth. The church inversted in leadership training for the leaders ## **Financial Review** There was a surplus for the year of £16,485 on unrestricted funds. The unrestricted funds represent income earned but not yet utilised in supporting the charitable activities. ## **Reserves policy** At 31 March 2024 the charity held £67,954 in bank balances, which the trustees considered to be adequate to allow them to continue to advance the activities of the charity. ## **Statement of Trustees' responsibilities** Law applicable to charities in Scotland requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each year which give a true and fair view of the charity's financial activities during the year and of it's financial position at the end of the year. In preparing financial statements giving a true and fair view, the trustees should follow best practice and: - select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently - make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent - prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the charity will continue in business. The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose, with reasonable accuracy, the financial position of the charity, and which enable them to both ascertain the financial position of the charity and ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. 3rd June 24 This report was approved by the board on 2 ## **Kings House Perth Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees** I report on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 March 2024 which are set out on pages 4 to 6. ## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 ("the 2005 Act") and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) ("the 2006 Regulations"). The charity's trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44 (1) (c) of the 2005 Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## **Basis of independent examiner’s report** My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Regulations . An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an opinion on the accounts. ## **Independent examiner’s statement** In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention 1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: - to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Regulations, and - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Regulations have not been met, or 2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. 3 ## **Kings House Perth Statement of receipts and payments for the year ended 31 March 2024** |**RECEIPTS**

All other funds are unrestricted. From time to time the trustees designate certain monies for specific purposes. There are currently no restricted or designated funds. ## **2 Trustee remuneration and expenses** has been pastor to the church since 1 August 2009. His total remuneration, including employer's National Insurance for the year was £22,304. (2023 £22,304) The total amount reimbursed to trustees during the year for travel and subsistence and other expenses was £7,099 (2023, £7,099) |**3**
