To assist severely affected ME sufferers and their carers. To this end we provide two 36 page newsletters per year containing lots of information regarding severe ME. We provide and update a contact list for members which allows them to contact each other if they wish and helps to break the isolation caused by this illness. We run special interest groups such as a prayer group, links service, welcome/befriending service and listening ear service which are coordinated and managed by group volunteers. In addition we have two advocacy workers who provide our members with help regarding benefits, care, medical and housing issues. We also campaign for better awareness of severe ME by highlighting areas of shortfall for the severely affected in the benefits system, medical and care information etc. We have produced many factsheets and medical papers produced by our medical advisors which are available and free to download from our website at www.25megroup.org.
