**What the charity does:** Japanese Matsuri for Glasgow is set up to share knowledge and skills relating to Japan with people in Glasgow and beyond. To achieve this aim, JMG runs two Japan-themed festivals (matsuri) in Glasgow twice a year: Hina Matsuri in March and Japanese Matsuri in June. These festivals are admission free and open to all, regardless of their background. Prior to these festivals, JMG runs Taiko Japanese drumming workshops (9 times in a year). The participants are encouraged to perform Taiko at these festivals, regardless of their skills, and they do. Taiko workshops are also held for Primary 5 classes of Hillhead Primary School, Glasgow, three times during class hours prior to the Hina Matsuri. The P5 children are encouraged to perform Taiko at the Hina Matsuri, and the majority of them do.   In addition, JMG visits primary schools and secondary schools in Glasgow and beyond to run a workshop on Japanese cultures.
