**Objectives:** The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 To provide recreational facilities, and organise recreational activities· with the object of improving the conditions of life for the benefit of young people in East Dunbartonshire ('the Operating Area'). 4.2 To relieve unemployment, by giving young people in the Operating Area access to training, facilities and advice to assist them in obtaining paid employment.. 4.3 To advance education (including outdoor education), provide training and promote social and personal development among young people within the Operating Area. 4.4 To advance health, including (but not limited to) working with young people in the Operating Area in relation to tackling alcohol and drug abuse. 4.5 To advance citizenship and community development, through (a) the provision of services which contribute, among other things, to advancing community safety and security by reducing antisocial behaviour among young people in the Operating Area. and (b) the promotion of the voluntary and third sectors, particularly through voluntary organisations_ that work to improve the lives of young people. 4.6 To advance culture and the arts by giving young people in the Operating Area access to associated training, activities and opportunities. 4.7 To advance public participation in sport, especially among young people within the Operating Area. 4.8 To advance environmental protection or improvement.
