Parklnson's s8lf-Help Group (mOthe￿ell> Area provldes a free m&mbershlp to a weekly drop-
In where both those vAth Parkinson's and their Carers can come to 8hare their expertences
wtth others who are faclng the same problems. They can acc&ss free relevant Informatlon and
advlcè on thè Parklnson's condition and they also have access to confidenlial support
regardlng signposting to beneflt checks ek., From time to time complimentary therapies are
available depending on funding. Covld 19 rules p8miittlng m8mb8r8 can also enjoy outings
and away days where they feel sodally inckJd8d.
CURRENT YEAR ATIVITIES
W8 ar8 actlV8ly contlnulng to h￿hlIght awareness of th8 Parklnson'8 condition and our
Parkinson's Support Group by holding various outreach events In hosptta18 and clinics in the
area. We al80 plan to contlnue to organ6ze a few fundralslng events
However. because of the current Covk119 pandemlc restrictlon8 are not allowed to cary
out any of the8e plans or to meet at our usual drop4n facility.
Due to prevlous l.T., classes provlded by NLC fundlng, our members have laptops or Ipad8
and thls has allowed us to meet virtually on a weekly basis on our normal drop-in day.
Meetlng Sn th1$ way has helped a116vlate some of the feellngs of Isolatbn and lon811nes8 and
allowed u8 to share any conc8m8. It has also upllfted those members who have enjoyed our
virtual exerci88lbh)go 8e8slons provided by the development worker.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Total income for the year was £36.982, {19120 £30,664) whlch mainly consisted Restri¢ted
Grant Income of £34,742, from North Lanark8hlr8 Councll (NLC). Carers Strategy Annual
Funding for salary and Rent , and NLC Devetopment fijnd. Thls Income can be seon In more
detall on note 4 The group also recefrrfed £2,240 In donatlon8 of vAitch £1,000 was restricted
and the remalnlng £1,240 can be 8p8nt on the further enhancement of the group's charitable
activitie8, you can See thls broken down In nol8 5.
The total expendlture for th8 year was £31,631, (19120 £35,474) total r8Strfcted charltable
C08ts amounted to £31.531 unrestricted £100, a breakdown of these costs can b8 seen on
pag8 7 of th18 raporL
At the end of the year the Group had a Sutplus of £5,351 (19120 Surplus £4,811). Total
Reserves at th8 end of the Year were £21,775, restricted reserves were £18,602
unrestrtcted reserves y￿re £3,173,whlch is greater than the target amount.

FUTURE PLANS
Our recommendatlon for thls incoming year was that we as 8 group would continue to work
diligent￿ to increase the awRrene$s of the Parklnson's condition and our Support Group by
further outreach at hospltats cllnlcs etc., and allow us to deliver therapies and outings for the
m8mbers.
Our future plans ara to carry on with the above awareness and fundraising evénts when
Covid restriclions are relaxed, and we look forward to being abl8 to meet again at our v￿eklY
drop-in and hopefully V￿lcome some new members.
RESERVES POLICY
The Trustse's pollcy is to malntain restricted réserves of around £8.868 thls Is 3 months of
nomial running costs in order to meet commitments and cover any un8XPeCted expendiiure.

2. NATURE AND PURPOSE OF FUNDS
The majoriiy of the fundlng Is restr￿ed grant Income which Comes from North Lanarkshire
Council to pay for one salaried staff member and a proportion of the rant and running costs.
There was also some unr8Strlcted donation income which can be spent on further enhancing
th8 groups (*aritable activities.
