The charity is set up to support the education of children and young adults from deprived backgrounds in the Ruvuma Region of Tanzania. We raise funds through raffles, fairs, donations, Kilt walks and art events and use the funds to build and equip a nursery, primary and Secondary Middle schools at Namanditi. We work in partnership with NACODA, an NGO based in Ruvuma and have been supported by the charity, One 4 Kids, the Advanta Foundation, Common Grounds charity and by the North Fife and Cupar Rotary clubs. We have a sponsorship programme with sponsors from mainly the UK but also USA and Spain, who pay the fees and living costs of students taking them from nursery through to a university, college or trade school education. By next month we hope to have 20 students in Higher education and a further 26 are either attending the Ntimbanjayo Memorial Schools, or are studying at various government high schools.
