Trustees The 24" Paisley Boys Brigade Company (24" BB Coy.) trustees comprise the ex-Company Captain and the Company Treasurer.
Appointment of Trustees The Trustees are ex-Captains of the 24" Paisley Boys Brigade Company and are appointed with the approval of the Company Captain.
Governing document
The 24!" Paisley BB Company is a charitable, unincorporated organisation and is a registered Company within the UK Boys Brigade organisation. The aims and objectives of the 24" Paisley BB Company are set out in the constitution of the Boys Brigade.
Charitable purposes
The purpose of the 24" Paisley BB Company is “the advancement of Christ's kingdom” among boys and young men between the ages of 5 and 18, as defined in the Object of the Boys Brigade. The 24" Paisley offers a wide range of activities of interest across the Company age range, based on the BB awards programme.
Activities and Achievements
The 24 Paisley Boys’ Brigade Company is a popular youth organisation, led by a committed and experienced group of officers and helpers.
The Company is based at St Mark’s Church, Oldhall, Paisley. There are 35 Company members, with 12 in Anchors, 6 in Juniors, 6 in the Company Section and 10 in Seniors. The leaders of the Company include 4 in the Anchors, 3 in Juniors, 3 in Company Section and 3 in Seniors.
The BB programme is designed to provide young people with opportunities to develop skills, to be creative, to have adventures, to try new things, to get to know Jesus and to makea difference. The leaders of each Section of the Company continuously review the activities to maximise the interest and participation of the members.
Members of the Company Section and Seniors took part in an adventure day in Fife during the session. The Christmas parties were enjoyed by the Company members and at Easter, lambs from a local farm visited the Anchors and Juniors sections. The 2024-25 session closed with a successful Display and Parents Evening.
A Civic Reception for Paisley and District Battalion was hosted by the Company’s home church, St Mark’s, Oldhall, for the awarding of Presidents’ and Queens’ badges. A member of the 24" Paisley Company was one of the proud recipients of the Queen’s Badge, having been with the Company since being an Anchor Boy.
All three sections of the company have continued to develop close links with the neighbouring 22 Paisley Company. Successful joint meetings and activities, including mini-golf, took place during the session.
Trustee Remuneration and expenses
The trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.

A deficit of £766.90 was recorded for the year. The total balance held by the Company on 31* August 2025 is £2153.31 in unrestricted funds. The funds are sufficient for running the Company.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of 24 Paisley Boys Brigade Company
| report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2025 which are set out on pages 3 and 4.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (“the 2005 Act”) and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) (“the 2006 Regulations”). An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1)c of the 2005 Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner’s Statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanation from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, | do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner’s statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention,
- which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met,
or
- to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
