**Objectives:** The objectives of the Society shall be to advance the education of the public in the history, culture and heritage of Clydebank and in furtherance thereof (a) to encourage and promote public interest in history, to gather and disseminate information and to promote co-operation and the interchange of views upon matters relating to the preservation of items of historical interest, (b) to stimulate public interest in the history and character of Clydebank District and its surroundings, and to encourage the preservation, development and improvement of features of general public amenity and historic interest.
