Activities and Achievements
During the past year, members continued to meet in fellowship on a weekly basis. The club hosted a number of interesting speakers and took part in various social activities.
The club hosted a successful race night in October 24 and also ran our regular Strictly come dancing predictions competition over the winter months at the end of 2024.
We have also been building a close relationship with Cowdenbeath rotary club and have attended and supported joint meetings, fundraisers and social evenings with the club,
2
The members’ Monthly Draw continued to raise much needed funding to support the charitable activities of the club.
Locally, youth activities continued to play a major part in the club’s calendar and we were grateful for the support of Inzievar Primary School which hosted the Primary schools Quiz heat with the winners Saline Primary Schoo! going through to the Rotary District Heat. The club made donations to a number of local groups including
Limekilns and Charlestown Gala
Therapets
Dunfermline Sounds
Shiresmill Therapy
Fife Festival of Music Trust
Local Primary Schools
West Fife Quilters
We have donated toys to the Salvation Army Christmas Toy Appeal. In addition we have funded hygiene boxes
Club members also laid poppy wreaths on Remembrance Sunday at memorials in four west Fife Villages, Kincardine , Limekilns, Crossford and Carineyhill.
internationally we have sent moneys to Shelterbox to enable them to purchase an emergency shelter. We have also contributed moneys to DEC Middle East Humanitarian Appeal to assist in providing emergency support in current areas of conflict.
Over the past year the Specsort project initiated by the Rotary Club of York Ainsty has continued to grow and we are currently working with several opticians and pharmacies across West Fife. To date 10,366 pairs of redundant and unwanted spectacles have been collected and graded to be sent to Africa.
Financial Review — Cash held in bank
The bank balance at 30 June 2025 is £12,450 (2024 - £12,871). The current level of unrestricted balances held is for use by the charity in forthcoming years in order to meet its objectives.
The deficit for the year ended 30 June 2025 was £421. (2024 - £10,915) Of the 2024 deficit, £8,220 related to cash balance held at 1" July 2023 in respect of donations received in 2022-23 which were restricted for the benefit of the Kampong Tralach Schools in Cambodia. All of this funding was passed over to the school during 2024 to support volunteer teachers. The unrestricted in-year deficit for 2024 was £2,695. The reduction in the unrestricted deficit in 2025 was largely driven by fewer donations being granted. However, the club provided practical fundraising expertise to support the Kids Out 2025 event, by facilitating a Quiz evening which raised more than £700 for the event. The club is actively looking to undertake new fundraising activities during 202526 to improve cash receipts.
Trustee Remuneration and Expenses
The trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.

- Accounting Policies
Basis of Accounting
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with applicable United Kingdom accounting standards, the Statement of Recommended Practice "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" referred to as the Charities SORP (FRS102) and the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.
The accounts have been prepared on a payments and receipts basis in accordance with the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended).
The trustees consider there are no material uncertainties about the Trust's ability to continue as a going concern.
Funds Structure
Funds are classified as either restricted or unrestricted funds which are defined as follows:
Restricted funds are funds subject to specific requirements as to their use as set out by the donor or created by legal processes but are still within the wider objects of the charity.
Unrestricted funds are expendable at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity. If parts of the unrestricted funds are earmarked at the discretion of the trustees for a particular purpose, they are designated as a separate fund. This designation has an administrative purpose only and does not legally restrict the trustees’ discretion to apply the fund.
Donations
Donations and similar incoming resources are included in the year in which they are received.
