**Objectives:** (a) to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Armadale and the Parish of Farr without  distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions by associating with the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhaqitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved.  (b) to take all appropriate measures to conserve the natural beauty and natural heritage of Armadale and its environs for the benefit of the local community and the public at large and to promote open public access thereto insofar as this is not detrimental to such conservation.  (c) to promote trade and industry for the benefit of the general public.
