Our charity is set up to run a Brownie Unit in a rural village in South West Scotland. There are weekly Unit meetings with the Brownies, who are girls aged 7 to 10 years. During the meetings they undertake educational and fun activities as directed by GirlGuiding. We operate our meetings in line with guidance from GirlGuiding that covers not only the types of activities but also ensures we have the appropriate measures in place that cover Safe Space Training, Risk Assessments, First Aid, Equality and Educational directives. The Unit is managed and run by volunteers and the girls pay weekly or termly fees towards the Subscription fees for GirlGuiding and the hire of the hall. We try to ensure that the Brownie Unit is available to all eligible girls regardless of family financial situation and therefore try to keep fees low.
