RECRUITMENT & APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEES

All the Association's Trustees are appointed or re-appointed by members at the beginning of the financial period.

GOVERNING DOCUMENT

The Association is a charitable unincorporated Association, and the purpose and administration are set out in our Constitution.

CHARITABLE PURPOSES

As recorded in the Constitution, our purpose is to volunteer our efforts to improve the quality of life in our own community and beyond our community borders. A worldwide organisation, Rotary Clubs meet weekly and are non-political, non-religious and open to all cultures, races and creeds. Club membership represents a cross-section of local professional and business leaders.

ACTIVITIES & ACHIEVEMENTS

This year the normal range of club activities and fund-raising events were undertaken.

The club raised funds through, the Pigeon Race, coffee morning, busking, street collections for the Ukraine appeal and various donations. The Club distributed monies to Rotary, Local, National, International and Youth charities.

Going forward, the club aims to continue traditional and possible new fund-raising activities.

Total Net Funds Raised during the year to June 30th, 2025 - £7,857

Internationally, the club donated £800 to Shelter box and £3,442 for Ukrainian appeals with £3,395 going to more local charities and good causes.

It is anticipated the Club will continue its traditional fundraising activities in the coming year through a combination of new and popular "annual" events and activities.

Thanks to all the Peebles Rotary Club members for their continued enthusiastic contributions throughout the year and most importantly, the continued support of the local Community. Both are hereby acknowledged and warmly appreciated.

Particular thanks to Lemon Digital for again providing so much printing and advice, W Forsyth, Villeneuve Wines, Evolution and the Tontine Hotel for Pigeon Race sponsorship, The Tontine Hotel for providing a meeting place and to Tesco and Sainsbury for facilitating street collections.

TRUSTEE REMUNERATION & EXPENSES

The Trustees did not receive any remuneration or expenses during the year.

RESERVES

£2,928 was the balance carried forward with £1,025 committed for further Ukraine donations leaving a free balance of £1,903 carried forward.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF ROTARY CLUB OF PEEBLES BENEVOLENT FUND

| report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30 June 2025, which are set out on pages 3 to 5 and pages 7 to 8.

RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER

The Charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act ("the 2005 Act") and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) ("the 2006 Regulations). The Charity Trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1Xd) of the 2006 Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity anda comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently | do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention; -

which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: - to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and

to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met, or

to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
