TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS FOR YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2023 Currant Trustees- tTO BE COMPLEfED] Rocnlitmont and appointmgnt of Trustees l of the trustees were appointed or reappointed at our Annual General Meeting. whi¢h was held on IDATE] at the playgroup. Governlng document St Andrew's Church Playgroup is a charitable. unincorporated association and thè purFoses and administration arrangements are set out in our constitution. Charitable purposes Our purposes, as recorded in our conslilution, are to provide a high standard of &8re and education for children up to the age of five, by creating a secure and stimulating learning environment, which supports development in all aa$ of the 'Curriculum for Excellen¢e'. and encourages the involvement of parents and Other persons where appropriate. Actlvltlos and achlevements We are an Aberdeenshire Council funded provider of early learning and childcare. We offer four playgroup sessions p8r week for up to 24 children aged >5 years, during sdMx)I tem) time. During 2021-2022, those sessions were 8.30am - 1 pm. The Children and Young People {Scotlandl Act 2014 placed an obligation on education authorities to increase the funded hours available to eligible children to 1.140 with effect from August 2021. This has led to local authority and certain other providers extending opening times and offering longer sessions, and more options lo parents and children for 8arfy18arning and childcare, than ever before. The playgroup dld not extend its OP8ning days I session lengths during 2021-2022 lo offer the full 1,140 hours of availabl& funded hours bul did take the decision, with effect from August 2022. to extend opening hours each day until 2pm and to offer a lunch service. which comes to us from a local pnmary school. Whilst we do not offer the whole 1,140 of available funded hours, the playgroup actively cooperates with other provides to offer'split placements, to parents who wish for their children to attend the playgroup but who ar8 also seeking to uliZe more funded hours than the p18ygroup currendy offers. Alongside various activities and exercises undertaken by our 3 long serving members of staff throughout Ihe year that are both engaging and educational, we have also enlisted Abrbeats to provide a music session once a week for the children, which seems to be very popular. Fundraising efforts for this year hgve raised a total of £2,083. Fundraising will continue to be a priority moving forward. with a number of new ideas and plans being put in place to not only raise funds, but also the profile of the playgroup and Its offering, within the community.
