The charity is set up to produce theatrical productions, particularly through the presentation of a summer season of classical plays in Glasgow Botanic Gardens. The charity also co-produces the annual pantomime at the Byre Theatre. The charity will undertake workshops and educational activities when commissioned to do so by companies and / or training institutions. The charity will also produce additional theatrical productions during the year, as and when opportunities arise.

Objectives: 1) To mount full-scale, text based, classical theatre, particularly in the surroundings of Glasgow's Botanic Gardens, but also within any other space deemed appropriate by the company. The emphasis will be primarily on Elizabethan theatre, particularly the works of William Shakespeare, but can include any art form deemed appropriate by the company. 2) To work within a repertory structure as the foundation upon which to build a strong, unique identity within the Scottish theatre community. A core group of actors, committed to developing technical excellence and building and sharing experience in the company's theatrical and education programming, will be at the heart of the company. 3) To work in association with Glasgow's Botanic Gardens in attaining the charitable objects of the company. 4) To inspire, educate and entertain audiences irrespective of age, ethnicity, gender, physical ability, sexual orientation or economic circumstance through the thoughtful re-visiting of classical texts. 5) To establish a ,strong outreach policy, focussing particularly on the more socially deprived neighbourhoods in Glasgow's West End. 6) To provide text-base educational workshops for young people In Glasgow's West End, and the greater Glasgow area, throughout the year. The company will develop and implement educational workshops (particularly during school holidays) in tandem with both the plays in rehearsal and the natural surroundings of the Botanic Gardens. This educational work will incorporate a wide range of themes, including literature, theatrearts, environmental responsibility, wood-craft, and botany (among others). 7) To tour internationally and promote Glasgow and Scottish theatre abroad.
