Maud and Community Early Years (MACEY) is a charity set up to deliver pre-school settings to children under 5 and their families. Currently MACEY, through a committee comprised of some of its members, organises a weekly Toddler group in the village of Maud in Aberdeenshire which draws in families from Maud and surrounding communities. Every week a play based session is set up which runs and brings together children under 5 and their families. The group is ever popular as there are fewer and fewer local groups like this. The group charges a weekly fee per child and runs small fundraisers to keep funds topped up to cover rent of the hall, snacks, parties, outings and general resources such as toys and arts and crafts materials. The group has a Facebook group used to notify group members and to put forward and ask for suggestions towards day to day running of the group. A Facebook page is also used to advertise the group and events taking place through the year.

Beneficiaries: 'Children or young people'

Objectives: The aim of the group is to advance the education and social development of pre-school children with the emphasis on the play experience, so that they take a constructive place in the community and also to advance the education of their parents and other appropriate persons. In furtherance of the above aims the group shall seek: a. to provide safe and satisfying group play and learning. b. to encourage other charitable activities through which the parents may support the development of children.
