It was incorporated on 17th May, 2012 as a result of a change to SCIO application by SC032332 Shopmobility Lochaber which was an unincorporateé association registered as a charity since 2nd October, 2001. The assets of the unincorporated association were transferred to the SCIO on the date of incorporation as a SCIO. Appolntment of trustees At each Annual General Meeting IAGMI the members may elect any member to be a charity trustee. The Board may at any time appoint any member to be a charity trustee. All trustees are elected to serve as board members for a period of 2 ye3rs. After the 2 year period, they may still m3ke themselves available for re-election to the post they hold. At the AGM, all of the charity trustees must retire trom office but are eligible for re-election. The maximum number of charity trustees is 5. the minimum is 3. Ob ectives and Activities Charitable purposes The purposes of the Charity are- 11 to relieve the needs of people with disabilities. 21 to seek to improve facilities for disabled persons and all people with mobility difficulties 3nd/or sensory or mental Impairments which could impede mobility. Activities Thi5 has been a mixture of highs and lows. Amongst the lows were the1055 of one of our previous Trustees, Jacqui Cowie. Jacqui seived as both a volunteer and later as our Chair on the Committee. Jacqui played a part in helping to turn Shopmobility Lochaber around. She will be sadly missed, because despite her resignation. she was still part of the team in an unoffi£ial capacitv We must thank our loyal supporters, who have beert with u5 throughout this year. Achievements and Performance 2024125 has been a challenging year, but fortunately the projert was able to survive and h35 the ability to go forward in positive trajectory. The main aim of the Project during 2024-25 was to ensure its financial stability, and work with our service users in the community to ensure their wellbeing and provide any practical help within our remit. Work continues to obtain funding to ensure the survival of Shopmobility going forward. Service Users From April 2024- March 2025 has seen 3 significant rise in registrations and donations, this was due to the return of free movement. However, the mobile service has been active each day except Sundays. By the end of March 2025 there had been a total of 1,987 registered service users, of whith 148 were new registrations from April 2024. In this period we have had 148 new Customers, which is a small improvement on previous years. During the year, the project has been working hard to ensure the most isolated service users are able to access the service and making our delivery charges as cost of fuel only. Page3of9
ui ment Servicin The robust serice rota is still in place all equipment has been SeiCed over the year. Shopmobility has increased its fleet of 26 types of Scooters, rènginE between Boot Scooters, P2vement Scooters, and general-purpose vehicles, a5 well a5 13 manual wheelchairs and 8 walkers. The Projett has experienced the kindness of the local community with many equipment donations, who are able to name the equipment in memorial to lost loved ones. Amongst our equipment are also bathroom assistance aids. The cost to replace each piece of mobility equipment can range between £200-£2,500. The equipment generally requires n annual service, however Shopmobility have a strict service rota, due to the high usage of the ride-on equipment. The project has increased the amount of equipment available for the local community. The lockable container which was purchased to store all our small equipment such as wheelchairs, rollators and various other odds and ends which are sometimes in demand, is well stocked. Marketin Shopmobility Lochaber has a wide range of marketing materials, including leaflets. business cards, and keyrings, and we advertise on the local tourist map. Fundin and Accounts Shopmobility has recently received the accounts for 2024-2025, which have been duly verified by Voluntary Action Lochaber, and are avai5able for all to view upon request. Fundin Received Shopmobility Lochaber managed to apply for funding of £10,800 from The Highland Council towards Staff costs. It is proposed that Voluntary Action Lochabe¢s Independent Examination services are retained for the coming financial year 2025-2026. Flnanclal review Total income for the year was £30,993. Expenditure for same period was £36.097 resulting in a deficit of £5,104. ReseeS held at year end were £19,278 of unrestricted funds. Reserves Poliry There is no requirement in the Constitution for reserves however the Trustees have a policy to hold 3 months of unrestritted spend in reserves.
