Activities
'It carries out activities or services itself'
'the advancement of health','the advancement of citizenship or community development','the advancement of public participation in sport','the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended','the promotion of equality and diversity','the advancement of environmental protection or improvement'
We enable people who are not able to enjoy outdoor activities, or who have done so in the past but are no longer able to, to do so in safety and in the company of others. Our members include the once-active elderly as well as those who have never had a high enough level of physical ability, including members who attend with their carers. We provide a valuable service to all age-groups, in terms of providing both access to the countryside and a social gathering for people who can be isolated by their disabilities. In the winter months, we hold lunch meetings with a talk or quiz, and a Christmas lunch, to continue to provide social activities for our members. We currently have ten electric mobility scooters, which are serviced and checked regularly. For each ramble we hire vans to transport the scooters to the starting point of the ramble.
Beneficiaries: 'People with disabilities or health problems'
Objectives: The advancement of health of its members through outdoor recreation and appreciation of the countryside.
