**What the charity does:** As Scotland’s oldest poetry festival, StAnza is one of the country’s leaders in promoting the reading, writing and understanding of poetry. Embedded in the heart of Fife’s cultural scene, we work to address low participation in culture through inclusive, affordable, high-quality programming. professional training and development opportunities. and a broad range of participatory events. We create opportunities for the people of Fife and audiences around Scotland to hear globally-renowned poets, and to develop their own practice through workshops, mentoring, and subsidised event participation.

**Objectives:** “The Charitable Purposes of StAnza ('Charitable Purposes') are to advance the arts, heritage and culture by. 3.1.1 promoting, organising and developing an annual poetry festival in Scotland, which is international in significance and scope, and which provides a platform for advancing Scotland's cultural contribution to this broader context. 3.1.2 advocating for the contemporary relevance and importance of poetry, and its dynamic relationship with other art forms, both within Scotland and beyond. 3.1.3 extending the audience for, and readership of, poetry through activities aimed at enhancing people’s enjoyment and understanding of the art form, to include community and educational programmes and events. and 3.1.4 endeavouring to realise best practice as regards diversity, inclusivity and environmentalism as key operational principles:”
