The Trustees, who are the management committee, are responsible for the day to day running of the charity and ensuring the aims and objectives are carried out. Most new trustees are familiar with the practical work of the charity by living and working in the local community. ## **Organisation's Principal Objectives & Activities** The principal objective of the organisation is the advancement of education, arts, heritage and culture on Islay. This is in particular with regard with regards to children in Gaelic Medium Education. ## **Main Activities** No activities have been held since our last report. ## **Financial Review** The charity had a surplus of in the financial year. Total funds at the year end were £ 1847.84 all of which of which was unrestricted. We received a £500 unrestricted donation from ACHA, paid out £1000 towards a Gaelic Education trip to Edinburgh for P5,6,7 pupils. Our bank now charges £4.25 monthly fee and a 12 month has been paid at £51. ## **Reserve Policy** The Charity holds £ 1847.84 in unrestricted funds and it is hoped that that the Trustees shall continue to maintain a balance of over £ 1,000 in order to ensure that the charity can continue to meet its purposes. ## **Investment policy** The Trustees have considered the most appropriate policy for investing funds and have found that short to medium term investment funds should be held in current accounts ## **Plans for future periods** Our plans for the future are to continue supporting and encouraging the children and families of Gaelic Medium (GME) pupils with after school activities. We will continue to work hard to encourage new members of GME to continue with all our fundraising activities. The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation (10) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44 (1) ( c ) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts ( Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with these records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts. In the course of my examination no matter has come to my attention 1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements :- - To keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations; and - To prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations Have not been met, or 2. To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
