The Trust’s objective is to defend, restore, conserve and acquire
Charitable purposes rights of access over land in Helensburgh and District and to
promote and assist in the development, maintenance and
responsible use of a network of paths for public benefit.

Summary of the main activities In relation to these objects. The Trust’s objectives comprise ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the existing path network, the development of major routes and associated sources of information, planning of future development, applying for and negotiating grant funding and general fund raising. ## Achievements and performance Helensburgh & District Access Trust Convener’s Report 2024-2025 In another successful year the Trust has continued in its core purpose of improving countryside access around Helensburgh. Projects have included the repair of eroded section of the Highlandman’s Road path carriedin Glen outFruinand Ll the—!,infilling of a low area on the reservoir path subject to flooding. Both of these jobs were A lot of time and effort went into keeping people informed about the diversion of the Three Lochs Way due to storm damage on the Killoeter escarpment. This included email and telephone responses to many enquiries, the preparation and fixing of signage and the extensive use of Social Media. A major clearance of the fallen timber finally re-opened up the route in March, the work being carried out by persons unknown, to whom the Trust is most grateful. We took part in a site visit to Glen Loin with representatives of Scottish and Southern Electricity to discuss our aspirations for community benefit stemming from their pylon upgrade work there. Funded by Paths for All, a number of rotten wooden signposts were upgraded with aluminium and steel replacements. A grant for £20k has been obtained for the upgrade of paths by the Glennan Burn and in Ardencaple Wood. The work is expected to start within the next few weeks. We continue to enjoy small regular donations and in some case more substantial sums from local residents. A particularly generous donation has again been received from a couple who come to stay at Cameron House and who walk our paths. Support from Argyll and Bute Local Lottery is growing and once again, we have been given a substantial sum by a Cardross based charity. Clearly all of these people and bodies value the work we do and we in turn greatly appreciate their support.
