The Volant Charitable Trust supports Scottish charities and organisations, whether national or community-based, which help vulnerable groups affected by hardship or disadvantage, with a particular emphasis on women and young people at risk. Through its Open Grants Programme, delivered by Foundation Scotland, the grant-making Trust’s objective is to help alleviate social deprivation, supporting charities assisting vulnerable groups, impacted by the cost-of-living crisis, to make a lasting difference to their lives and life chances. The Volant Charitable Trust is committed to other work too that includes donations to international projects, the support of single parents through Gingerbread, and research into the causes and possible cures of Multiple Sclerosis through the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic in Edinburgh.

Objectives: The Trustees shall hold the Trust Fund and the income of it to pay and apply the same to or for the benefit of or in furtherance of such purposes, objects or institutions charitable in law, and in such proportions and manner as the Trustees shall think fit. In exercising their discretion in terms of this Clause the Trustees shall give primary consideration to the wishes of those persons who gift or lend funds to the Trust but this proviso shall impose no binding obligation on the Trustees.
