Chairman's Re
ort
It has been my privilege to be Chairman of Starter Packs for the
last 12 months. Can l immediately say that I have been fre-
quently humbled by the enthusiasm and hard work of our Ad-
ministrator and Volunteers. Without
them, our organisation would not exlst and the clients to whom
we cater would lead an even more dlfFicult existence. I would
offer my sincere thanks to all of our team.
I would also offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone who donates,
whether that be goods or money, to our charlty. The generoslty
of both Indlvlduals and organlsatlons Is amazlng and wlthout
them we would not be able to
asslst the number of people that we do. On thelr behalf, I thank
you all. Thls year, the 25 th of our exlstence, has been a very
busy one. Although we are a relatlvely small charlty we have
helped around 1300 people thls year.
Whllst thls Is an Impressive number, It saddens me as It demon-
strates the level of continuing need In both Dundee and Angus.
In some ways It would be wonderful If there was no need for us
to exlst but regrettably I do not see
that belng a reallty for the foreseeable future.
In common wlth most smaller charltles, flnance Is probably our
major challenge. A major part of our Admlnlstrator's role relates
to fundralslng. Flona has successfully ralsed slgnlflcant sums of
money for us and thls wlll
remaln one of her prlorltles In the comlng year. As there Is no
monopoly on good Ideas, anyone who reads thls Is very welcome
Indeed to dlrect us to addltlonal potentlal donors or sponsors.
Thank youl
As l already Indlcated, thls Is Starter Packs, sllver annlversary.
There are several plans on the drawlng board to help us cele-
brate our "birthday" but all will be being aimed at achleving our
objective of assisting our clients lead a more fulfilling life. Please
look out for our plans which will be announced later in the year.
As I indlcated at our last AGM, for a variety of reasons, I ac-
cepted the role of Chairman for one year only and will therefore
stand down at this year's AGM. I would, however, be very happy
to remain on our Board, If wanted, to
support our new Chalr In any way that I can.
Once agaln, my slncere thanks to everyone Involved In this
wonderful charlty.
