The Charitls trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trust88 Investment {Scotland) Act 2005 and Charrties Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 The charty's trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44{1) {c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have corne lo my attention. My examination is carried out in accordance wrlh Regulation 11 of the CharitKgS Accounts (Scotlandl RegLtlations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. 11 also Includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in Ihe accounts, and seeks explanatK)ns from the trustees concerning such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit. and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts In the course of rny examination. no matter has come lo my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accounting records in accordance with Sedion 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and to prepare accounts which accord with the acwunting records and comply wrth Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations have not been met, or to which, in my opinion. attent￿￿ should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Archie MacDonald Stornoway Isle of Lewis Dated 'I,[ THE FAILTE CENTRE ANNUAL REPORT 2025 We are pleased to report that the Luncheon Club is covering itself and w'e expect no increase in charges in the immediate future. Regular attendance has been high and there is currently a waiting list to join the club. One expense that could not be foreseen M'as the need to fit security cameras around the Centre to discourage any further artistic efforts on the walls. The camcras give us a 2417 view of the paths and the car park. The equipment was supplied and titted by Tech Mobile who have also helped us Miith learning how to use it. The Centre is very busy and the job of coordinating all the requests for bookings is relentless. Our Administrator, Trace>', does it all with an ¢tTiciency and grace for which we are eternall}' grateful. Nobody ever sees the amount of work that is done behind the scenes but Kve are graleful for the number of things that just appear to have been done on the quiet and il keeps the place running smoothly so an espeLially grateful thanks to everj one that helps us out. Some surprises just arrive out of the blue. Imagine walking in and finding the Kitchen, the Dining Room AND the Lounge freshly painted! They look wonderful and it has generated a lot of good comments froin Centre Users. Luckil),, our secret painter is just as adept ai using the Dishwasher on a Thursday as she is at wiclding a paintbrush! Our only significand disaster came just before Christmas when a blocked drain on the roof caused an overflow into the hall. The problem has been fixed but we are anticipating being able to insulate the roof and replace the roof membrane. We hope this will reduce our heating bills too. We held our Christmas Day Dinner. where we invited anyone that was going to be on their own on Christmas Day to come to the Centre and celebrate with us. We had a wondcrful response from the off¢rs of support and volunteers to help us on the day. There were 21 of us sat down to a very enjoyable meal. We were so pleased that people gave up their time to help. There is no doubt that we will do it again! On the accounts front, we have spent a lot more on maintenance by replacing our lighting and checking our EICR compliance. While overall w'e made a loss over the year of £2339 we expect that changes in the lighting and in ¢lectricitv supplier will help us going forward.
