I have independently exarnined the slatemerrt of bala￿£S and receipts and payments
account to which this is attached.
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preParat￿n of the account5 in accordance
with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and Charib-es
Ac£ounts ISGotland} RgJulalion5 2006. The chariWs trusteas consider Ihat the
8udtt requi￿rnent of Regulation 10(11 (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not appty It is my
responsibilty to exarnine the accounts as required under section 44{1) {c) of the Act and to
state whether particular matters have Come to my attention.
My examrnation is carried oul in accordance ¥￿th Regulabon 11 of the Charities Accounts
(Scotlandl Regulations 20L%. An examinab'on includes a review of the accounting records
kepl by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented ￿1th those recoids. It also
Includes considerat￿n of any unusual items or disdosures in the attounts. and seeks
explanations from Ihe trustees conceming such matters. The procedures undertaken do not
provide all the evidence that woukl be required in an audit. and consequentty I do not express
an audit opinion on the view given by the accounis
In the Course of my examinakn'on, no matter has come to rny attents'on which gNes me
reasonable cause to b￿￿ve that in any rnaterial reSP￿t the iequirements to keep accounting
records in a¢¢ordance with Se¢tion 44(1 } (a) of the 20J5 Act and RegUlat￿n 4 of the 2006
Account5 Regulations, and to prepare accounts whdi accurd wrth the accounting records
and comply with Regulation 9 of the 20C6 Ac£ounts Regulations have not been met, or
to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in Ufder to enable a proper understanding
of the accounts to be reathed.

W¢ are astonished ai the continuing high booking rate for the Centre, it is telling us
that we must be doing something rightl Suppl)'ing a ￿'arn} and inviting haven at an
allordable price 15 obviously the kcv. Sadly. with the higher costs for our fucl and
elcctricity this Ycar, wc finall> gave in a￿1 had to put the hire prices up bul we
kept the increase to as little as w'e Lould mantigye.
Nobody ei4er sces the amount of i￿Ork that Is done behind ihe scenes but we are
ever grateful for the number ot- things that just appear to have been done on the
qui¢t and it keeps th¢ place nllming smoothlv so an especiall) grateful thaEths" to
evcryonc that helps us out.
Our Auditor for the accounts this year told me that he ￿IShed all the accounts he
saw M'¢rc rfls sirnpl¢ to do iLS thc Ccnlrc 5 Jo bask in thc knowl¢dg¢ of a
job %¥cll done! Shc also keeps our bookings in Drdcr which is no mcan fcat in itsclf
and l.or which we are thankful.
We have had a couple ot" disasters this Jear. One caused b! the young genileman
that spray painted our building for us. SadlN, he ￿'aS no "Banks) and it cost a lot
of hard ¢ffort and paint to get rid olthe damaoc don¢.
The second was caused M'hen thc cold water pipe sprang a leak right alx)ve th¢
power supplv in the Kilchen one Thursdas moming. Luckily the Conkinb Crem,
managed to rescue the lunch and w'e ser*'ed out on a trolleN' in the dining room.
LeH'i.s Builders came to our rescue within minutes to i.solate Ihe electricity, find thc
burst and fix it so that ￿'¢r¢ up and running ¢l¥din in ddyS.
As a part of the Intergcnerational sessions, the children from Stornowa>' Primary
School came to sing and play for our Christmas Dinner and w'as enjoyed by all. We
will be seeing more of ihem &s the vear ￿QgreSseS.
We held our Christmas L)ay' L)inner, w'here we invited anyone that was going to bc
on their own on Christmas Da) ￿ come io the Cenire and celebrate with us. We
had a wonderful response troTn Ihe offers of support and volunteers to help us on
the day. There were 17 of us sat do￿￿ to a i'ery enjoyable m¢al. We ￿ere so
pleased that people would give up their time lo help. "fhere is no doubt that we
will do it again.
On the accounts fronll there are no surprises. Last )'ear we made a small gain of
£2800 ov¢r th¢ v¢ar but a5 we finish this year V¥'e can see a slighilN, better position
overall with a gain of £6100
